I would certainly suggest
that a comommity such ael
Marys should work closely wltb
an organization such as the Md.
western Onta.rio Development
Council to obtain practical as-
sistance in industrialpark lay,
out and merchandising assia-
tame.
I recently read in a newspaper
that a commtmity eight times
the size of St. Marys stated
that if it obtained one or two
new in,dustries every two years
or so it was doing well, but I
suggest that this is only a min;
imum objective and not goal.
I must be fair and say that
a community the size of St
Marys cam, only expect these
kind of results. There are new
industries going, into towns that -
size of St. Marys and I cite 'Fer-
gus as an example. It is doing
a fine j.ob . and is smaller than
St. Mar34 and has had some
problems in the past but it does
have sewage. faCilities.
Industrial park design is only
a mechanical thing, but the
land must be owned and servic-
ed by the municipality to be
competitive and must have a
fixed price. Most privately

It is not an answer- to all the
problems of a community but
at least steady economic deVnl-

I would far rather de.n1 with
