Beneanson, beloved wife of John G. Edgar, in her 51st year, which took place in Toronto, Saturday, Deo. 7th, after lingering for some time. Deceased's remains were brought to Gorrie and taken to Jas. Another of the old and well known residents of Seaforth District, in the person of Mr. ,john McMann, of Eg- mondville, has departed his Iife. Mr. McMann died on Monday, Dec. 9th. He had been in failing health for over a year, so that the sad' event was not en- tirely unexpected, although he had been going about at intervals until within a few weeks. The death of Wm. 0, Treleaven at Ms home on Havelock St., Lucknow, ou Friday, Deo. 6th, removes an esteemed citizen and reopeoted businese man of Lucknow. He was one of the earliest settlers in Lucknow, having moved with hie father from their farm on con. 6, Ashfield, when about two years old. The financial atmosphere over in the United Stateteseems to he 'clearing up, and the factories that out down to short hours or closed down have found that there is a demand for their goods, and that new orders are coming in. The annual report of the operations of the Holmesville Butter and Cheese Fac- tory for the past year has been 'prepared for submission to the coming annual meeting. The work was not much more than half that of 1906, owing to the dry- ness rynese of the season. The total amount of butter made was 21,925 lbs, wbieh realized $4,433.26, or an average of a trifle over 20o per lb. The amoant paid to the patrons was $3,537. After paying all expenses for the year, there is a bal- ance on hand of $52 51. The liabilities are only a small note, and the interest thereon, amounting altogether to $106.
