She entertained seven friends at her party. Miss Carol Ann Vivian has accepted a position in Stratford for the summer months. Mr. and Mrs.' Alec Miller, Linda and Brian, left Saturday on a three week motor trip to the Prairie Provinces and the west coast Miss Eleanor Kemp and Miss Susan Butson, Monro, flew to Frobisher Bay, Northwest Ter- ritories, to visit with David Kemp who has been 'teaching school there for the past year. Miss Edna Miller, London, is holidaying this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Miller. The June meeting of the Staffa United Church Women was held in the Family Life Centre, Thursday evening, June 20. Mrs. Cecil Bowman was in charge of the devotions and us- ed as her theme, "Stewardship". Hymn 356 was sung, followed by prayer by Mrs. Leslie ,Miller. Mts. Bowman discussed Stew- ardship. The scripture 'lesson was read by Mrs. Leslie Miller. Miss Vera Hambley presided for the business. Fourteen members • answered the roll call with a verse on Steward- ship. The treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Lorne Fell. It was agreed to send the glints on hand -to the Victor mission. Refreshments were served by Mrs. John Drake and Mrs. Ruby Reed. - The Annual Hart Reunion was held in Seaforth Lion's Park on Sunday June 23rd with approx- imately 45 present. Mrs. Percy Harris presented the wor- ship service. Missionary pray- er was offered by Mrs. Roy Mac- Donald. A reading, "Grandma's Bible" was given, by Mrs. Har- old Currie. Mrs. Richard Taylor presented facts on "Citizenship and Social Action". The new gymorium and class- room of St. Boniface R.C. School at Zurich, will be blessed by the Chancellor of the Diocese of London, Rt. Rev. F. J. Lav- erty of London on ThursdaY evening. The ceremony will be followed by the presentation of awards to students who have excelled in` their work. The rest of the evening will be spent in an informal "Open House". Unit one UCW met Thursday afternoon, June 13th with 19 present. Mrs. Harry Caldwell, spoke on her visit to Japan two years ago, telling something of its industry, agriculture, reli- gion as well as its culture. She explained that in spite of its vast population for its size it is One Of the most prosperous countries in the world. Mrs. Edison Forrest was in charge of the devotional and spoke on a contemporary youth service held in Stratford last fall, giving some inSight into youth's attitude towards God and religion today by relating some of the discussjons and op- inions presented by them. Mrs. Wes Richardson and her com- mittee served lunch.
