Meets; Convention Report
The monthly meeting of the
LCW of „ St. Peter's Latieran
Church was held bat Wednes-
day evening in the basement.
Mrs. Fred Young read the scrip-
ture lesson. Mrs. Oscar Young
led the topic "Unity In Our
Church". Mrs. F. Young read
the closing prayer and Mrs. Ed-
win Scherbarth gave ethe pray-
er for missions,
The guest for the evening was
Linda Wolfe who showed slides
on her trip last year to the Un-
ited Nations, entitled "Pilgrim-
age for Youth". Mrs. Earl Rock
presented her with a small gift
of appreciation,
Thank -you notes were recelv-
ed from Wayne Wurdell and
the Women's Auxiliary of Wat-
erloo Lutheran University. Don-
ations were received from Mrs.
John Dietz and Pastor Leming.
A thank -you note and donation
was received from the family of
the late Mrs. Henry E. Diegel.
A moment's silence was held
in her honor.
Mrs. Edwin Scherbarth gave
a report on the fourth biemilal
convention which she and Mrs.
Harold Rock attended in Water-
loo.

TAXES
Taxpayers are reminded that the first
regular installment of Municipal Taxes is due
JUNE 30, 1968
The regular Tax Notices have now been is-
ued; payment of both installments before
June 30th will entitle the ratepayer to a dis-
colint of 1% of the amount.
Please note that the Pre -Levy Bill is now n,g,t due and
subject to penalty charges.
Residential property owners are reminded that the
Province of Ontario Residential Property Tax Reduction Pro-
gram provides a tax credit shown on your present tax notice
as follows: Public School supporters $49A00; Separate School
supporters $52.45. A similar tax credit is provided to land-
lords, on behalf of each tenant of residential property and
the provincial statute requires that this be passed on to the
tenant as a benefit.

ried to the former Alice Ann
Nixon and will teach in Lon-
don this year.

MRS. DANIEL FISCHER
Mrs. Daniel Fischer, 64, Mit-
chell, formerly of Logan Town-
ship, died Thursday at the Strat-
ford General Hospital.
-Born in Logan Township, she
was the former Emma Rock,
daughter of the late Mr. med
Mrs. Henry Rock. She and her
husband farmed in Logan Town-
ship until they retired to Mit-
chell last fall. She was a mem-
ber of St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, Brodhagen.
Surviving are her husband,
one son, Harold, 171 Norfolk
St., Stratford; one daughter,
Mrs. Herbert Fink, (Pearl), ' 47
Duoro St., Stratford; two broth-
ers, Fred Rock, Waterloo and
Martin Rock, Logan Township;
two sisters, Mrs. William Sie-
man (Hilda) and Mrs. Edward
Ahrens (FriedaT both of Mit-
chell.
The body rested at the Lock-
hart funeral home, Mitchell un -
till noon, Saturday when remov-
al was made to St. Peter's Luth-
eran Church, Brodhagen, for
services at 2 p.m. Burial follow-
ed in the church cemetery. Pall-
bearers were Robert Jarmuth,
George Jarmuth, Oscar Eickmei-
er, Gordon Kistner, Harold El-
ligsen, all of RR 1, Bornholm
and Kenneth Elligsen, Brodha-
gen.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to
all Property Owners in Huron County
In accordance with the' Weed Control Act. R.S.O. 1960,
Sec. 3, 13, 19, and amendments thereto, that unless noxious
weeds growing on their lands are destroyed by June 24th and
throughout the season, the Municipality may enter upon the
said lands and have the weeds destroyed, charging the costs
against the land in taxes, as set out in the Act.
The co-operation of all citizens is solicited.

both the old and new rates in the same pay period, you may use:
(a) OLD RATES for any pay periods ending on or
6efore July 6th 1968, or
(b) NEW RATES for any pay periods starting on or
, after June 23rd 1968.
2) Stamps that will become obsolete after June 30th may be exchanged
at your post office for stamps of the new denominations.
3) If you are registered as an employer wifh the Unemployment
Insurance Commission, a bulletin with detailed information about
exchanging stamps has been mailed to you. •
