HIBEIERT COUNCIL
Hibbert Township 'Council
was'informed that 16,882 cattle'
had been sprayed for Warble
Fly. The report was given at
their regular June meeting.
The clerk was also ordered
to apply for •a grant to cover
the inspector's fees and mile-
age.
Fred Harburn was engaged to
spray the township •roads for
weeds and a resolution was pas-
sed to purchase chloride from
Pollard Bros. The chloride
would be applied to township
roads.
A grant of $125 was donated
to the Mitchell Agricultural So-
ciety for 1968.
Road accounts fel. $4,614.26
and general accounts for $12,-
482.87 were ordered paid.
LOGAN COUNCIL
Robert Nicholson Construc-
tion was awarded the contra)ct
to begin work on the McDoug-
all Drain for $1,500 and the
Cook Drain for $1,750 at the

orized to attend the Clerk -Trea-
surer's Convention in Honey
Harbour, June 24 to 27, will all
expenses paid.
Road acceunts amounting to
$8,194.01 and general accounts
totalling $25,154.17 were order-
ed paid. The general accounts
included two drain contracts
and three tile loans.
GREY COUNCIL
Grey Township Council set
its 1968 township rates at their
regular June meeting. Rates
stood at 17.7 mills for commer-
cial, 15 mills for farm and resi-
dential and .5 mills for the fire
department.
A supplementary by-law was
passed and submitted to the De-
partment of Highways for ap-
proval to the amount of $49,000
for the construction of the Hay-
den Bridge and Jacklin Culvert.
Hanna and Hamilton Construc-
tion Was granted tenders for
the construction of the Meehan
Drainage Works for $2,500 and
the Fraser Drainage Works for
$2,300. -Council also accepted
the tender of Ken Gerber Con-
struction, Milverton, for the
contruction of the McKee Drain-
age Works for $2,500.
All approved Accounts were
ordered paid, totalling $6,585.21.

The Dublin Women's Institute
meeting was recentlyheld at
the home of Mrs. R. Aikens.
Mrs H. Britton, President,
called on Mrs. K. J 'Stetton for
the secretary's report. 1VIrs. W.
Annis gave the treasurer's re-
port.
SVIrs. T. Butters reported on
the District Annual meeting
held at Fullerton, Ontario and
the project, "Pennies for Friend-
ship" was discussed. These, are
to be collected each meetinc.
MTS. H. Pethick presented the
topic "Agriculture!' prepared by
Mrs.' R. Aiken's.
A report was read on the val-
ue that snakes, bats, skunks,
'est. have on agriculture by
eating insects and another no-
tation was read regarding,
"Juice for Our Health." Mrs.
R. Burchill gave a poern, "The
Song of the Lazy Farmer."
Mrs. T. Butters was presented
with the Institute's cup and
saucer for services of president
in the past. Mrs. J. Dorsey gave
courtesy remarks.
The meeting was then adjour-
ned. Lunch was sbrved by Mrs.
S. Nagle, Mrs. J. Dorsey and Mrs.
R. Aikens. A 'plant sale was
_held. Auctioneering was by Mrs,
J. Burchill.

MORRIS COUNCIL
Morris Township C)ouncil an-
nounced' no change in the town-
ship mill rate from 1967 at
thei rregular June meeting.
The rate remained at 15.3 for
• farm and residential property
and 17 milLe for business and
commercial property.
Council also read twice a by-
law setting a penalty on unpaid
taxes at three per cent and in-
tereit at 2/3 of one per eent
commencing January 1, 1969 on
1968 taxes and tax arrears for
all preceding years.
In other business, council ap-
proved a grant of $100 to the
Brussels Centennial' Committee.
James Mair was also asked to
look after repairs to Sellors
Drain.
