The president Mrs. Ed. Chap- pel presided. There were 14 members and seven visitors pre- sent and roll call was answered by " A resolution one could use daily." Mrs. John Templeman presen- ted the motto "Resolve to keep up to the Mary Stewart Collect". .Mrs. Carter Kerslake on behalf of the Women's Institute, pre- sented four 4-H provincial win- ners with Instiute cups and saucers for sucessfully complet- ing their 12 projects. The girls were Misses Heather Daynard, Bonnie Miller, Marg Worden and Joanne Templeman. Mrs., Kers- lake was their first 4-H leader. Mrs. Wilbur Glanville read from the Instiute Handbook, out- lining the duties of the presi- dent, secretary -treasurer and citizenship and education conve- ners. A sing -song was enjoyed with Mrs. Chappel leading and Mrs. Robert McCoughey on the piano. Mrs. Carter Kerslake report- ed on the district annual last week in Fullerton. Mrs. Russell Worden gave an interesting re- port on resolutions. This was followed by an open discussion by members. Mrs. Robert MeCoughey fav- oured everyone with a piano in- strumental. Miss Vera Hambly on behalf of the Institute mem- bers presented Mrs. Gordon Hoggarth with a remembrance for her faithful service to the WI. A very special guest for the evening was Rev. Joel Chisanga, Zambia, Central Afrka, who has just • completed his studies at the Theological College in Bos- ton and is visiting with Rev. and Mrs. A. IL Daynard before re- turning home. He was introduc- ed by -Mr. Daynard and gave a most Word/give talk of his country, telling about Zambia's independence, it's population, education, agriculttiral methods, housing, etc. Rev. Chisanga speaks eight languages, besides Edglish and taught the members a few words in Ids native ton- gue.
