Mr. and Mrs. August Scher -
berth returned home last Wed-
nesday after a three week vaca-
tion to California. They were
accompanied by Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Scherbarth of Detroit.
On Wednesday evening the
Intermediate D baseball team
from Brodhagen played at Mill-
bank and were successful in
winning their first game 7-5. On
Sunday they played against
Moorefield at the Community
Centre here and lost 16-11. The
next home game ie June 2. They
will be playing at home each
Sunday at 2:30 p.m. '
FUNERAL
MRS. HENRY E. DIEGEL
Mrs. lleneee E. Diegel, Brod-
hagen, Line& away in Stratford
General Hospital on Sunday,
May 19. She was in ill health for
seven weeks and seriously ill
for two weeks.
She was the former Emma
Eisler, a daughter of the late
John Eisler and Anna Kohle
and was horn in Logan Town-
ship on May 2, 1886. She was
married to Henry E. Diegel on
December 12, 1907 and the Y cel-
ebrated their 60th wedding an-
niversary last Decend ar. They
farmed in Logan Toveiship' un-
til 1947 when they retired to
Brodhagen. She was a member
of St. Peter's Lutheran Church
and an honorary member of
the LCW.
Surviving with her husband
are three sons, Dalton, Logan
Township; Wilfred, Stratford,
and Henry C., Logan Township;
six daughter, Liliale Mrs. Frank
Josling; Gladys, Mrs. Nelson
Harris, and Della, Mrs. Norman
Ahrens, all of Mitchell; Bertha,
Mrs. Norval Elliott, Hibbert
Township; Mildred, Mrs. Wil-
liam Head, Toronto; and Mrs.
Jack Crossan, London; two bro-
thers, George, Windsor; ' and
Louis, Logan Township; one
sister, Mrs. Edith Beuerman, of
McKillop Township; 18 grand-
children and 19 great-grandchil-
dren. One daughter, one sister
and two brothers predeceased
her.
The late Mrs. Diegel rested
at the Lockhart funeral home
until noon, Wednesday When re-
moval was made to St. Peter's
Lutheran Church where Rey.
Harry Lossing conducted the
funeral service with burial in
St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery.

MUEGGE —
St. Patrick's Roman Catholic
Church, Dublin, was the scene
of a lovely wedding on May 11,
at 1:30 p.m. when Eileen Ther-
esa O'Rourke, daughter Of Mr..
and Mrs. Wilfred O'Rourke, RR
1, Dublin, was united in mar-
riage with Donald Ernest Mueg-
ge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Muegge of Seaforth.
Rev. J. L. O'Rourke, uncle of
the bride, Stratford, and Rev.
Remi .Durand, officiated.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, wore a
floor -length skimmer line wed-
ding gown of French lagoda.
The bodice featured elegant
monk sleeves with an insert of
dainty Swiss -guipure lace- and
a tiny bow. A detachable train
cascaded from two bows at the
back of the dress. The same
guipure lace silhouetted the bot-
tom of the train and formed
centre insertnTo complete...ler
bridal outfit, the bride wore a
French pure silk illusion finger-
tip veil caught by a cap of Gui-
pure lace petals. She carried a
cascade bouquet of pink Delight
roses.
Mrs. Edward Rowland, Dub-
lin, sister of the bride, was ma-
tron. of honor. Mrs. James Sloan,
RR 5, Seaforth, another sister of
the bride, Mrs. Doeglas Dal-
rymple, Hensel' and Miss Linda
Muegge, Seaforth, sisters of the
groom, were bridesmaids.
. They wore floor -length gowns
of buttercup yellow chiffon. The
basic skimmer lines were ac-
cented by cotton lace inserts on
the elbow -length sleeves and by
a lace panel falling from the
back neckline. They carried
cascade bouquets: of shasta
daisies and wore matching ros-
ette headpieces.
Michelle Rowland, niece of

the bride and Lisa Buetterimil-
ler, Seaforth, niece of the groom
were flowerglrls and Stephen
Rowland, the bride's nephew,
was ringbearer.
The flowergirls wore floor -
length tent styled dresses of
buttercup yellow •chiffon with
cotton lace sleeves and match-
ing lace panels along the front.
They wore matching headdress-
es and carried bouquets similar
to the bridesmaids.
Groomsmen were Richard
Muegge, Chatham, the groom's
brother and Edward Rowland,
brother-in-law of the bride.
Guests were ushered by Robert
Muegge, Brockville, brother of
the' groom and James Sloan;
brother-in-law of the bride.
The organist, Mrs. John Nagle
accoinpanied the soloist, Mr.
Larry Murray, RR 4, Walton,
who sang "0 Sacred Heart",
"Ave Maria", "On this Day" and
"Blessed Be This Day".
Following the ceremony, a
reception and dinner were held
in Brodhagen Community Cen-
tre. The bride's mother receiv-
ed guests wearing a navy lace
dress with navy accessories and
a corsage of red roses. The
groom's' mother assisted and
wore a figured surah dress wi,th
white accessories and a corsage
of pink roses.
Guests attended from London,
Stratford, Dublin, Seaforth,
Windsor, Sarnia, Chatham,
Brockville and Kitchener.
The bride and groom left On
a wedding trip to the western
provinces. The bride's travel-
ling costume was a two-piece
navy blue ensemble with navy
and white accessories and a cor-
sage of white orchids.

OBITUARY
AntlEter BUCHANAN
Albert Buchanan of London,
died in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, on Sunday, May 26. He
was in his 62nd year.
Mr. Buchanan owned and op-
erated a gas station and truck-
ing business Ir Varela for merry
years. The funeral was held in
London on Wednesday, May 29
and interment followed in Mt.
Pleasant cemetery, London.
