• The unique roll which Huron
County has played in the his -
'tory of Canada was outlined by
Kenneth Stewart, of Kingston,
4t the Huron County Historical
Society meeting in Illyth on
Friday night.
Mr. Stewart, whose family set-
tled in Huron County in 1837,
is a high school history teacher
who has done a great deal Of
research in the area. He asked
members to record local history
and to study it and said that
family and social history are
equally important

MRS. WILLIAM H. KLOPP
Mrs. William II. KloPP, the
former Edna Louise Rohfritsch
a Stratford, died suddenly in
Stratford General Hospital on
Wednesday, May 16, 1968. She
was born in Sebringville and
was a life-long rksident of
Stratford.
She is survived by her hus-
band and three daughters, Miss
Marjory, at- home; Ruth, Mrs
Gordon Reuttemniller of, Sea-

forth- and Evelyn, MTS. Victor
Huras, Stratford. One sister,
Della, Mrs. Edward Rehberg,
Yucaida, California, five grand-
children and one great-grand-
daughter also survive.
Mrs. Klapp was a member of
Zion Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Stratford. The -funeral
was held on Saturday, May 1.8

UCW Meeting
The 'Tuckersmith Unit No. 1
of the Brucefield United Church
were invited ' to the home of
Mrs. Edgar Allan, Seaforth, for
their May meeting with 23 at-
tending and one visitor, Mrs.
E. Broadfoot of Sunrich. Also
five former members who are
'now living in. Seaforth attended.
, Mrs. Seldom Ross opened the
meeting with a hymn. 1VIrs. Geo.
Henderson and Mrs. Ross gave
readings followed by prayer.
The offering was received and
dedicated. The motto, "Mother-
hood)" was given by Mrs. D.
Stuart. Mrs. Stuart took the Stu-
dy Book about "The Fears and
Anxioties of Motherhood in Ja-
pan". Mrs. Stoll gave the min-
utes of the April meeting

The June meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. Ross Chap-
man, June 10th.
Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Stu-
art conducted a sing -sing and
quiz contests.

Bert Chapman.
