/APO stock Markets.
Toronto, Deo 10.—The run at the City
Cattle Market to -day was 90 cars, with
1,465 head of cattle, 1,898 sheep and
lambs, 400 hogs, and 154 calves.
The mild weather showed its effects
on the butcher meat market in a most
unmistakeable manner to -day. The local
butcher trade is very captions just now
about loading up with a lot of meat on
hand in the face of a period of muggy
weather, and with trade conditions
generally not favorable to laying in high
priced meats.
The bulk of the demand to -day, in
fact, was for the cheaper class of cattle
to supply immediate wants, with only a
limited demand for the choice botcher
cattle. The supply of the latter olase
was not very plentiful, the holdera of
such stock evidently preferring to hold
for a few days nearer to Christmas,
when the weather and other conditions
may show some improvement. From
these various causes trade was very slow,
and draggy to -day. Prices were not
materially changed. Good stocker cattle
are in demand at advancing prices.
