another successful season on
Friday evening..with the annual
banquet and presentation of tro-
phies to the winning teams and
individual winner.
There were approximately 40
present with Pon Wood, presi-
dent of the bowling league, pre-
siding over the gathering. The
Ladies Auxiliary to the y,egion
catered for the banquet am;
were thanked on behalf of the
league by Jaek Eisler for the ex-
cellent meal served.
One of the highlights of the
evening was the psysentation of
trophies to top winning -teams
and also to ineividual trophy
winners. '
William Dalrjeriple, vice-presi-
dent, extended a welcome and
congratulation, on behalf of the
president, C. -Wood and 'branch,
to the league members. The
chairman Don Wood, introduced' '
the head table follewing the
banquet, which included: Mr.
and Mrs. Mel Melanson, Mrn.and
Mrs Don Eiton, Mr. William
Dalrymple, Mr. and Mrs. Al
Nicholson, Mr. and lifrs. Gor-
don Noble and Mrs. Don Wood.
Presenting of trophies follow-
ed: schedule :trophy waswon by

een• Eisler and included Jai°kie
Melanson, Jean Hoff, Howard
James, Max Learn and Gordon
Scott. The presentation was
made by Mel Melanson, sports
officer of the branch and league
treasurer.
Playoff winners were the Un-
touchables, eaptained by Lester

Mr. Keith Malcolm has finish-,
ed writing exams at Western
University, London and is home
for the summer months.

chapel length train edged in
chantilly lace fell from the back
of her shoirlders. A floral clus-
ter held a four -tiered French
illusion facer veil in opine. She
carried yellow roses and ivy.
Bridesmaids, Rosmary O'Caa-
nor, Dublin and Joyce Kelland
' of London, were gowned alike
in floor length A-line gowns of
yellow Lagoda Crepe with
sleeveless bodices of line lace
accented by an empire waist df
rose buds. A camelot babk fell
from the shoulders in graceful
folds. Matching bow headpieces
completed the arrangement.
Miss Dolores Maloney, Sea-.
forth, was the maid -of -honor.
For their honeymoon tl Ni-
agara Falls following a recep-
tion in the Brodhagen Hall,
Dublin, the bride chose a green
tweedensemble with accessor-
ies. She also wore a white gar -
&pia corsage.
The couple will take up resi-
denoe in Dublin.
Guests for the ceremony came
from Stratford, Seaforth, Lon-

UCW Meets
Mrs. Robert Dalton presided
over a meeting of the UCW on
Wednesday, opening with a
poem "What a friend we have
in Mother".
Mrs. Everett Beuerman open-
ed the study period with the
Bible quote, "The Lord is nigh
unto all them that call upon
him". She read the 5th Psalm
and followed with a meditation
on it called "What time I am
afraid."
'Mrs. Jim Axtman presented
the fourth chapter .of the study
book called "A Modern Naomi".
Mrs. Beuerman closed the
meeting with prayer.

SOCCER NOTES
St. Columban played their
first game of the season,on Sat-
urday in London against the
London Celtics one of the bet-
ter teams and came out on the
shorft. end of the score 5-3.
Gerald Ryan scored St. Col-
umban's three goals.
Officials urged support for
the club at their home games.
The next game is at St. Colum -
ban field on Saturday at 4 p.m.,
against Sarnia.
Joseph Noran, Donna and Dan-
ny were at St. Joseph's Oratory,
Montreal and Kingston at Mr.
and Mrs. Gordan Costello's for„
