aus and Rennie Armstrong were
not quite enough to meet the
challenge of Lie DeJong Whe
reigned as the total points
champion at the SEM track
tneet last week. •
Based en five points for first,
three for second place and one
for third, Lia rang up 25 points
on three firsts, three seconds
and on third to capture the
senior girls' division. Barbara
BcYans naced,the intermediate
girls with her 20 points, all in
the track events, while Rita Van
Dooren took three firsts to lead
the junior girls with 18 pohits.
David Harvey and Bin Scott
ended up tied for the lead in
the juntaboys' events with 14
points each. The junior division
title went to Jun Dalrymple with
18 points based on three firsts,
and Rennie Armstrong's 20
points were tops in the senior
class.
A number of records were es-
tablished as previous SDHS
marks fell to the 1967-68 ver-
sion of Seaforth's high school
athletes.

MRS. EDWARD M. LANE
Mrs. Edward M. Lane died
Friday, May 3, in Seaforth Com-
munity Hospital after an illness
, of two mon.ths. She was 48. .
Mrs. Lane was .the ;former
Helen, Marie Edler,' daughter of
the late Albert Elder ' and his
wife, Elizabeth Holmes of Sea-
fc rth. She was born in Sea -
firth and edu‘sted at Sear3rth
Picblic School and Seaforth D13.

ship at the SDHS Field Meet last Wednesday seems to have a
secret weapon in the pole. vaulting competition - his bare
feet. Rennie won the senior boys' pole vault, the 100 and 220 •
yard races and the high jump.
