THE AT-HOME
A great deal of effort was
put into our formal dance this
year and it certainlyproved
worthwhile. The at-home turned
out to be probably the best -at-
tended dance of the year.
The handsome couples danc-
ed beneath a canopy of blue and
yellow streamers and in Ilirmo-
ny with the theme of the event,
Mexico '68, the auditoriurn was
transformed into a fairyland
type of setting with murals de-
picting Mexican scenes (the
work of Paul Hagan, Marilyn
Sedley and Marg Ryan) coloured
lights and huge brightly col-
oured flowers.
Also in neordanee with the
Mexican theme was the band,
a brass one erdled the "Brass
Union".
The highlight of the evening
came at twelve o'clock when
the five most beautiful girls
in the school were brought on-
to the stage for the crowning
of the queen. Of the five can-
didates, Faye Munroe, Kathy
Dale, Jane McConnell, Susan
Leonhardt and Nancy Scott,
Jane McConnell was ,the lucky
winner and was crowned by
