Mr. and Mrs. John Mueller
and Ruthanne, Hamilton, spent
the weekend at Brodhagen and
visited Mrs. August Hillebreeht.
Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Wolfe
attended the funeral of Mrs.
Clifford Watson of Exeter on
Thursday. Mrs. Watson is the
mother of Dick Watson of Ger-
many, son-in-law of Mr. and
Mrs. Wolfe.
A Swiss dance was held at
the Brodhagen Community Hall
Friday evening with a large
crowd attending. Swiss Joddlers
attended from Toronto. Tony
Williamsen and the Bluebirds
played for dancing along with
a Swiss orthestra. Swiss saus-
ages were served.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Wolfe,
Marcel, Darrell and Dale, Kit-
chener visited with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Wolfe on
Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Michael
Connelly visited at the same
home.
A bridal shower was held for
Karen Schumm on Sunday af-
ternoon at the home of Mrs.
John Moore preceding her mar-
riage to Leonard Miller in May.
Guests attended from Toronto,
Waterloo, Baden, Seaforth, Wel-
fon, Brodhagen, Mitchell and
surrounding district. '
We are sorry to report that
Mrs. Henry Diegel is a patient
at the Seaforth Community Hos-
pital!

The Staffa Women's Institute
held an all day quilting and
pot -luck dinner when Mrs.
Verna Brooks was hostess for
the day in Staffa Hall. During
,. the day four quilts were kuilt-
ed for the War Memorial Hos-
pital and the Northern 0-ntfario
bale.
Roll call was answered by all
, members telling their "beef"
with some very interesting sug-
gestions and ideas given, Mrs
Cecil Bowman gave an inter-
esting paper on the motto, "Hon-
est labour •disgraces no man"
Geraldine Templeman, favoured
with a solo accompanied by Mrs.
George Vivian. Mrs. Vivian con-
ducted a geography match.
Mrs. Ed Chappel presided for
the business. Mrs. Carter Kers-
lake and Mrs. John Templeman
were named to look after the
short courSe on May 1st in
