Reeve Ross McPhail of Hib-
bert and Reeve Ken Stewart of
McKillop indicated it was with
mixed feelings that they, saw
the new installation.,
We realize that the old had
to giVe way to the 'flew, Reeve
McPhail said and Reeve Stew-
art added "its the most modern
but -at -the same time in doing
away with the old system we
are' eliminating another element
of personal service to the com-
munity such as that provided,
for so many years by the oper-
ators and those others respon'-
sible for the operation of the
system."
He added that while the
change reflects the change to
bigness and a more efficient op-
eration, at the same Wile it was
another instance of the conduct
of local affairs being removed -
further from the people.
The Village of Dublin was rep-
resented by trustees Joseph
Cronin, Joseph Looby and Ken
Stapleton.
• Later the party visited the
new dial exchange where Bell
technicians explained the oper-
ations of the. new system.
