Hensall Legion Ladies
Auxiliary held their March
son-in-law, Mr. 'and Mrs.
Harold Shepherd, Toronto.
Mrs. Garnet Allan and son;
Meeting Tuesday in the Leg-
ion Hall, with p r iden t,
1VIirs. Garnet ,Allan presiding.
$25.00 was donated to the
't Auxiliary Bursary Scholar-
ship Fund. Two delegates are
being sent to Ottawa- to the
Legion., Auxiliary Convention
in September. The ladies are
catering to a Legion Bonspiel
March 16th, and will canvas
the Village for the Red Cross.
in March. Also they will hold
a draw for an Easter basket
of groceries in April, which is
on display at Beaton's Bakery
with proceeds for crippled
. children.
Mrs. Jim Chalmers was
the winner of s the mystery
prize and guessing prizes.
Bingo was played and lunch
served.
At the annnual meeting of
Hensall • District Co-operatives
Incorporated held Thursday
evening in Legion Hall. The
Volume was $1.140,287.00,
largest in years. Directors e-
lected for 3 yrs. were George
Dowson, Varna; Delhert Gei-
ger, Zurich; Gordon DeJong,
Brueefield. Guest speaker
was Alex Miller of U.C.O.
Retail Division.
Mrs. James Smillie who
has ben spending the past
few ,months with her son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Smillie and ' family
at their farm home, is visit-
ing with her daughter and
