GODERICH BAND
Valentine's. Day, brought a
very pleasant surprise to SD
HS. After the second class in
the afternoon, the whole stu-
dent bedy came down to the
, gyin to hear the Goderich
District Cbllegiate Band.
This is a very worth while
extra curricular activity at
Gederich and was indeed en-
joyed by everyone.
„BOY'S BASKETBALL
Talk about school spirit!
It was certainly in full force
on Friday, when Our boys
played their final game a-
gainst Northwestern, at
home. Most of the credit in
arousing this school spirit
goes, of course, to the cheer-
leaders.
The senior boy's game was
a Close and exiting game all
the way. A minute left in the
game foundthe Score tied
39239. But before the final
buzzer was sounded, Strat-
ford Northwestern broke a-
way and Scored their winning
basket, to win over our team
with a score of 41-39. That
certainly was a great game
to end the basketball season
with, even if our boys did
suffer a humiliatifig defeat.
The junior boys' team en-
ded the season -off with a
great aame also, trouncing
the Stratford Northwestern
team with a 57-28 score. John
Mayba was our top scorer.
EX AMS
At -few weeks age, an inter,
esting annow!cement• w a s
made concerning the final ex-
aminations in June. Any stu-
dent -of any grade maintain-
ing -an average of at least
60% on all term tests and ex-
aminations in any one sub-
ject, have the opportunity to
be exempted from writing
that subject in June, at the
teacher's discretion. The em-
phasis on exams is eventually
becoming less and less.'
School activities .,will soon
come to a standstill as next
Wed. will begin the bane
examinations. Let's not pun
examsinatinns. Let's not pur-
sue the point any further!
