Mr W. A. McKinnon, the Canadian
trade agent at Bristol, has informed the
department of trade and commerce that
Canadian apples command higher prices
than do American. In the variety known
as Kings the difference is very marked;
those coming from Boston and Maine
command 18e to 21s 6,i, those from New
York from 18s to 21s, and those from
Canada from 19s 93. to 26s. Mr. McKin-
non attributes this largely to the rigid
system of inspection in force.

The plant of the Holyrnnd Creamery
was sold under mortgage, by auction on
Saturday last The mortgage upon the
property amounted to $600. and the
directors of the company, which was a
joint stork eonoern, bought it at that
figure. It was not, however, bought in
for the stock holders but by the directors
for themselves. The plant; had cost $2,-
930 and the stockholders lose all they
pat in it.

during 1906, 4195; in this respect Huron
stands 7th in the Province. The groes
amount of fees earned for the year was
$5917, of this $1221 was earned, but not
received. Deputy R•'gistrar received
$800 for services; $1066 was paid ant
for other services. The County received
$1460, and the net amount received by the
Registrar was $2389.
