has not been noticeably worse than usual
continuing to go out right up to within
a couple of days of her death, when
hemorrhage of the hangs set in. She was

expressed over her death.

Tuesday morning on the G. T. R.,
which resulted in the death of Brake-
man Duret, of Sebriugville, Ont, A
switching crew, while taking fourteen
empty cars down a hill, three-quarters
of a mile west of Goderioli yard, struck
a cow on the track, the collision derail-
ing four oars and throwing Brakeman

One of the best known and most high-
ly respected residents of the Township
passed away on Friday last in the person
of Mary Yoniil, wife of Mr. Robert,
McMurray, of the 3rd line, aged 06 years.
Tho deceased lady had for long years
been a resident of this section and. her
death will be regretted by a larger circle
of friends, and the bereaved family will
have the sympathy of the community.
The funeral on Sunday afternoon was
very largely attended, the funeral pro•
cession of rigs being over one mile is
length. Service was held in Trinity
Church atBelgrave,at conducted by
Rev.
/IL 'Hartley of Blyth and interment was
made in the Brandon cemetery,
Township Council met on Monday

On Tuesday moruiag of this week,
Miss Mabel Orawford Oliver, passed
away at the home o[ her grandfather,
Mr, John Bargees. The deeeaaed young
lady was in hor 24th year and had been
in poor health for some years and for
a few mouths had been confined to her
room. Mies Oliver has resiled with her
grandparents slued infancy, her mother
having died when she was a child. She
was held in high esteem by a large cir-
cle of friends and her early death is
much regretted. The bereaved will
have the sympathy of the community.

30 or 40 bushels of wheat and a quan-

Miss Jane Edwards, now of Gorrie,
was a Sunday visitor in town.

acoident one day last week while en-
gaged in splitting wood, a chip hit him
in the eye.
Our school is to have a new teacher.
It is with sorrow we learn of the depar-
ture di soon of Mr. Collins. His place
will be hard to fill.
Mr. W. Edwards, our saw -miller, is
doing a rushing business these days,
with chopping and making apple butter.

Mrs, Hugh Lowry, who has been

Methodist Church, on Tuesday evening
last, met at the home of Mrs. Richard -
eon, who is about to leave for Clifford
and presented her with an oak rocking
chair. Mre. Richardson was a moving
spirit to the Ladies' Ai& in every Way
assisting in everything that was for the
