Graham, when referring to the large ex.
penditure which has been made, and
whioh must yet be made, to meet the
rapidly growing needs of the country,
he eaid: "Along the game linea the
Government had introduced the cold
storage system, by which refrigerator
oars were sent to take their products;
cold storage was tarnished on ships and
across the Atlantic, whereby their fruit
would arrive in England as fresh as when
plucked from the trees. And if people
wished to build cold storages the Govern-
ment would contribute 30 per cent. to
the cost. That was not politics at all,
bat common sense, and over one million
dollars would go to the farmers of the
country by furnishing them cold storage

This was a debt inorease in a decade of

j edges on the bench amply protect the
rights of witnesses, too many allow them
to be bnliduzed, browbeaten and threat-

load -voiced manner. They permit
lawyers to ask aha insist upon anewets
to the most ‘irrelevant, immaterial, per.
sonul, insulting gnestions, which have
no bearing whatever upon the question
at issue. For lnetanbe, John Smith is a
witness in an assault ease. The lawyer
asks his name, occupation, age, how
mach money he makes: mike in an in.
sinnating manner if 11 is not a fact that
he was one time erres,ed for somethnig

showld be treated as a citizen who is en.
deavoring to aid in the administration
of justice, not as a criminal. A lawyer

A BAIJ LIVER.
The only salvation for the person with
a torpid liver is through a changed
system of dietetics, combined with exer-
cise in the outdoor air, calisthenics and
deep breathing. The person with a
bad liver should habitually practice deep
and long breathing, filling the longs at
eaoh inhalation.
The curative dietary most consist
prinoipally of nerve or brain food, in-
cluding fish and a reasonable amount of
beef, with generous quantities of cereal
foods end the fruits that aro rich in acids.

Weak Women
To weak and ailing women, there is at least one
way to help. But with that way, two treatments,
must be combined. Ono is local, one is constitu-
tional, but both are important, both essential,
Dr. Shoop's Night Cure is the Local,
Dr, Shoop's Restorative, the Constitutional.
The former -Dr. Shoop's Night Cure -is a topical
mucous membrane suppository remedy, while Dr.
Shoop's Restorative is wholly an internal treat.
went. The Restorative reaches throughout the
entire system seeking the repair of all nerve.
all tissue, and all blood ailments.
The "Night Cure", as its name implies. does its
work while you sleep. It soothes sore and innate.
ed mucous surfaces, heals Meal weaknesses and
discharges, whle the Restorative, rases nervous
excitement, gives renewed vigor and ambition
builds up wasted tissues, bringing about renewed
strength, vigor, and energy. Take Dr. Shoop's
