twined a number of their friends on
Friday eveniug last, se lien a pleasant
and enjoyable time was spent.
Early on atou'ay morning, ()et. 28th,
another of.the remaining pioneers of Hat•
lett township passed to his eternal re-
ward,in the person of Mr. Geo. Snell, at
the age of 81 years. Up to about 8 years
ago Mr. Snell enjoyed the best of health,
but he experienced a slight stroke of
paralysis, the effects of which remained
with him. Born in England, he oame
to this country when quite young, and
atter a short residence in Chingnacousy,
came to Huron about the year 1847, and
settled on lot 81, on the SGh concession,
where he has ever since resided. The
country was then all bush, and he pass-
ed through all the experience and hard-
ship of pioneer life, converting Ms
farm into one of the best in the town-
ship. Two years after Doming here he
was married, a union that happily listed
until two and a half years ago, when
Mrs. Snell died; they had celebrated
there golden wedding about six years
ago. Mr. Snell loaves four eons and
three daughters --Humphrey and Wm,
in Hallett; Goo. in Londesboro; James,
near Wingliam. The daughters are
Mrs. E. Walker, East Wawanosh; Mrs.
Jacob Elsely, Colborne, and Mrs. Snell,
