representative gathering and many ad-

of starting a campaign here. Many
thoughts were expreesed along the lines
of temperance, and it was oonsidored
advisable to hold a publio meeting in the
Town Hall in the near future. A speak-

BL.IILVALL(
The death summons came to a well
known resident of Binevale Saturday
night, Sept 28th, in the person of William
T. Smith, who has lived here for nearly
40 years and he passed away to his re-
ward, aged 70 years. He was born in
the Co. of Datiham and moved to Bine-
vale in the prime of his young mauhood.
His wife was Mies Emma Farrow, sister
to Thoa. Farrow, postmaster of Brussels.
The sons are Thos. of Winuipeg; and
Rev. W. B. of Ohesloy, and the daugh-
ters, Mrs. (Rev.) Scanlan deceased; Mrs.
Carpenter, of Chatfield, Out., and Mrs.
(xannett, of lilnevate. The sabjeot of
this notice was a loyal Methodist, being
a class leader for years. He was Con-
servative in politics and a member of the
Canadian Order of Foresters, being
buried under the direction of the latter.
Mr. Smith, while not as robust as in his
earlier years, was able to work until
quite recently. Cause of death was an
internal rupture. Mrs, Smith antifamily
will share largely in the sympathy of the
community in their bereavement. De-
ceased was a man of many excellent
qualities, a good neighbor and a support-
er of whatever he thought to be for the
public) weal.
The Tremble of Old Age.
With the advance of years the vital
functions of the body slow down. Io
consequence the organs of secretion
suffer, the action of the bowels are less•
etted and there is no longer healthy
circulation. The brain is congested
with blood, giddiness, trembling and
cold extremities are common. No assis-
tance is so potent as Dr. Hamilton,s
Pills, • By their direat notion on the
stomach, liver and kidneys they cause
an immediate ohange. Mild, free from
gripe, strengthening and cteausing tbe
whole syttans, no medicine is so valuable
in old one as Dr. Hatniltotae Pine 01
Mandrake and Butternut. Try these Pills

Thesad news reached here Friday
of iast week of the death in Goderioh
hospital of Jos. Taman formerly of this
town. Fall report is not to hand, but
on Tuesday he was unfortunate enough
to fall off a load of barrels, w•bich 'sensed
his death. He was a brother to Thos.
Tamen and Mrs. David Carter, of Blyth
The people of Blyth got a start at 3
a. In. Wednesday morning, O. t. 2nd,
when the fireball woke them out of their
peaceful slumber. It was found out
that the fire was at Elatn Livingston's
power house and before the fire was
under control the engine room was burnt
out. Owing to the walls being solid
brick the Are did not get into the dynamo
room or break out into the saw mill and
handle works and saved Mr. Livingston
from a very heavy loss, as it is a new
engine and boilers will have to be instal•
led before the mill and electric lights
will be in running order again.
