The Scripture reading
Mark '6 from Verse 30' told of
the miracle when. Christ fed
the five thousand with five
small loaves not any.,. larger
thana bun and two small
fishes. The disciples. wanted
to talk' to Jesus in a qUiet
place where people were not

place but the people wanting
to hear Jesus .took off in
another direction and when
Jesus and his disciples
.reached the quiet place• they
found the .crowd had arrived°"
there before them._
As it was getting late and
these people had not eaten
and would be hungry;. Jesus
asked' the disciples if there.
was any food among. them.
The disciples . found a boy
with the five loaves and two
small fishes.

collected that none be wasted,
This passage of Scripture
showed how kind Jesus was
and that he loved the multi-
tude of people and was
concerned abouttheir com-
fort. Duringthe hymn
"What a Friend. We Have :in
Jesus" our borrowed budgie
bird, sang and chirpedwith
us. Jesus likened the multi-
tude to sheep without a
shepherd. This reference
was understood by the Jews,
many of whom kept sheep
and cared, for them. A lesson
to us from this miracle is that
we shoyld love and'help each
other, especially in .a • place
like this where so many are
handicapped' by a kind word
'or a helping hand when
needed.
There . are quiet times
which we should use 'to
affirm our faith in Jesus
through prayer: Rev. Duke
asked us to sing the familiar
child's hymn "Jesus Loves
Me.,.
I have been pleased to
