" World wars were announced
probably a lot of people did
cry but there was no choice,.
many had to go out and fight.
Since this Sunday is Remen:,
branlce . Day, I asked some
kids! around Seaforth: how
they felt about war and the
people who fought.
June Rivers of Seaforth
said "We're to remember all
of the soldiers that died and.
,stuff like that. I feel deeply
moved stick! don't think it's
fair they had to die. I feel
Sony, forthe soldiers and
their wives,"
The wives must have been
really hurt to find that their
husbands hadadled. The men
must have been, hurt also to
see some of their friends and.
chums die right in front of
- their eyes. The main problem
with the war was, that so
many people were killed in it.
"If the soldiers hadn't fought
we wouldn't have the free-
dom that we have. today, but
1 don't think'they had to kill
each other," June said.
Another questlon °that I
asked a few of the kids was,
"If I phoned you up and I
told you that there will be a
war nextfiuesday, would you
want to fight or stay at home
and hope that we win.
Rhonda Farig of Seaforth
said "If there was going to.
be a war ` I'd , fight to have
peace. 1 wouldn'tbe scared
because other people lost
„their livea'for us so we should

others."
Rhonda: also said that
Remembrance Day is a day
that we think' about people
who fought for us. "The'
people were brave and nice
W lose theirr lives' for us. They
did that so that we'd have
peace in our land."
It must have taken a lot of
courage to go out to war even

When we go to, fhe ceno-
taph next Sunday, we will
stand there and remember
those we knew who died- in
the war, each: for our own
different reasons.
Perhaps we lost an uncle,
grandfather, father, neigh-
bour or just a close friend in
the war.
The ones who will have it
the roughest are the veterans;
who survived the war(s) with.
memories of , their dearest
friends getting shot by the
opposition, Those memories:
of the blood and bodies lying;
on the ground will probably
haunt them forever.
Sure, they were the lucky
ones, that lived, but many of
them are ,injured for life and.
will always°'remain in hosp-
itals. These too are the
people that we must retnetn
ber on Remembrance Day.
We seem to think that the
only people worth remem-
bering are those that died in
the war, not those .veterans
that fought just as hard but
lived to tell about it..
