the field where he •was

this sighting he was en-
grossed in plowing his fur-

forgot about the little animal
until a. little later when he
looked back and happened to
notice something roll into the
furrow as he plowed on. As
soon as possible, he stopped

Frantic officials, unsure of
how much help might be
reqoired, put out a call for
• assistance. The firemen ar-
• rived promptly, consulted
with officials, donned their
breathing apparatus and
carefully started to roll back
the furrows by hand, wearing
heavy gloves. This is the first
occasion when such •extra.
ordinary precautions had: to,
be taken.

The owner of Hard Up
Farms, has apologized to the
Beechwood IPM Associatien
for the charges laid against
his •hired hand Mr, Mole -
board. The owner hopes te
be back in the association's
good graces by the time the
1980 match rolls around,
By all implications it will
•..be bigger and better than
ever. The neighbours were
shocked by the charges but
have overlooked it all in view
•Of the fact .that it was the
poor housewife of Hard Up
Farms turnip patch that Mr.
M.
o e oar serve /S. sen
ence in. As a result, the poor
lady has no turnips. Don't
worry - all wrong has been
righted and Mr. Moleboard's
job has been definitely term-
• inated. No doubt Hard Up
Farms will be looking for a
new hired hand to arrive
hopefully in time for Christ-
mas. •
A warning to all future
plowmen - don't try to pull
the wool over the judge's
eyes. It won't work, Since the
judge picked a Queen of the
Furrow without the know-
ledge of local princesses,
fury has resulted and appli-
cations are rolling in for the
198.0 contest. Other reports
are that local ladies are
getting their plows painted
and polished for next year.
Till next year, happy plowing
