"It'll be A Season Of
surpriSes". says Mitch
Kennedy, coach of Seaforth's
Juni4r 'A' hockey club. the
CentOlaires.,
And surprising it should
be. This year, the Juniors
look as if they wil have the
ambitiott and ability to
' achieve egg things. Gone is
the loser attitude, Gone 'IS
the lack of players willing to
really put everything they'Ve
got into the game.
The Centenaires lost 'their
first two exhibition games to
Tavistock by.scores. of 10-2
and 10-4, -
But Coach Kennedy can
justify that:, He was trying to
give all the players a chance
to play; a. chance to show
what they could do, "1 didn't
mind the scores. We could
have won," remarked
Kennedy. "I wanted.to give
everYone a fair Chance at
making the team."'
Giving all the $11)1, who
tried out for the tearn the
opportunity to get some lee
time isn't easy, Thirty-five
players came to the tryouts.
A team can only dress. 1$
skaters and, 2 goalies fr-
regular season games, The
team roster will probably be
cut down to 20 or 22 playet,
Determining who will or
won't be playing ft r N
is the job not onlyot ON:Lich,
but also the managa. Tar!'
Craig. Craig says, hopefully
that all the players kept .by
the team •will have signed
playerslcontracts by the first
league game, Friday night.
What about the actual
players? Who will be the
ones to watch for this
season? Well, Cam Doig
returned to the team this
year. Last winter he set a
new league sexing record,
Attd although it'll be tiugh to
top that, he'll stilt likely be
the one to put more pucks in
the ne t than anyone else.
Danny McClure will be
relied on, in goat. while
Donny Williamsonformerly

surprise" on deten..c. Doug
Fry will be a Want leader.
and the coach is. "expecting
big things."' frOrn, Penni
Nielsen.
This year. }conned:y*4,
philosophy towards the game
has changed somewhat. The
Centenaires, "will be going
with the ones that will give
100 percent all the time,
rather than the big guns,"
Craig echoes this though
by saying some players are
"kr.44 »". •S'

„going to have to work hard to
get there. It all comes down
•
to one thing, as VMS
expressed .by Terry Craig.
"In the past, we were
missing the guys that could
hustle. And that's what it is,
the guys that can huSile. This
year, we've got some
guys that really can hustle."
Hustling, giving 100, per-
cent all the time, and having
a winning Attitude, These are
the main ingredients for
producing the best.
