Jessie McAllister after Which; the President gave a poem, entitled "The Tale of a' Twilight Bell". The Treasurer Mrs. Bert Horton gave ther report and also reported Mrs. Sarah Simpson and Mrs. Jessie , Armstrong audited the books. The Roll Call was aswcredbthe Payment dues. BERTHA MacGREGOR 262-2025 The Hensall and District Kinsmen which was chartered on April 28th 1954 celebrated their 25th anniversary on Friday . evening September 14, 1979 at the Hensall Community Centre. There were over 100 people attended the dinner which was catered by the Hensall Ladies* Legion Auxiliary and Mozart Gelinae and his Melody Makers supplied the music for the dance which followed. Past Kinsmen and Kinettes from Barrie, Essex, Aylmer, Elmira and Hensall attended. Deputy Governor Guy Paelin and Alison; District Governor Mike Hoyles and Marion; National Representative Larry Cherry' and Mary; Charter President Doug McKelvie and Doris, Essex attended.:The Deputy Governor installed the Kins- men and Kinettes officers for the corning year. During the past 25 years the Club has sponsored -the Bean Festival raffles, dances, 'support Minor Sports sponsor Kin Playground at Park, raised money for many worthwhile projects in the village and area. and sponsored the Piddl er's Contest every time, "Congratulations" Kinsmen & Kinettes. Mrs. Avril Brass St. Catharines and cousin Miss Joy Hughes of , Bakerwell Derbyshire, England and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Robb, Lucan,visited latt week with Mrs. Gordon Schwalm, CHRISTIAN EDUCATION SUNDAY OBSERVED Christian Education Sunday was observed in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday conducted by Rev, Kenneth Knight who spoke on "Supporting the Church's Educational. Program" He alsd addressed the Sunday school classes and teachers. Mrs: Clarence Volland pre- sented seals, and diplomas to the Sunday School members for attendance, and a Bible to Jerry Raber for perfect at- tendance. The Van Wieren sisters 'namely Teresa, Audrey, and Carol ,Ann favoured with three songs., the latter accompanied; on the guitar. Mrs. Robert Taylor presided at the organ for the service of song. Chiselhurst United Church will observe their an- niversary on Sunday, -Sept. 30th. with Rev. Stan McDonald In charge. Special music will be supplied. ' FORMER AREA, MAN DROWNED Lambert BeVers, of '119 Elm Street London, aged ,70 was drowned. at Sturgeon Falls on Friday, September 14th, 1979'. The. deceased came to this area with his - wife and familYfrom Holland and: was employed at the farm of the late Stewart Bell High bowling score was Neil Regan with 199 and the Lady's high score was Mary Parlmer with 125. Mrs. Ruby Bell returned home after opending a few days last week visiting with her son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Bell and family in LondOn. BANKERSMOVED Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bellamy moved to Southampton where a new 'Branch of the Bank of Montreal Will open in October. Mr. Bellamy was on the Staff of the .Bank of Montreal; Zurich and Mrs. Bellamy was on the staff of the local branch. Their many friends wish them every success in the new branch.
