County dairy calf competitor was Trent Foerter of Clifford who scored 753 point.' Terri Smith of Walton was the Huron County representative in the beef calf competition, and she scored 775 points. The beef calf competition was won by CherylMeArthur of Stayherand Brian Montgomery of Shelburne, who tied for first place with 878 points, Second. place 'was won by Kevin Brown of Waterloo County; and third by Nancy Noecker of Moorefield, in Wellington County. 'The champion competitor in each class received 75 silver dollars on a silver tray. Until last year, the Silver Dollar competition was - limited to dairy calf club members. Because of the popularity of the competition, it was necessary to limit the number of entrants per county to five, and , allow them only two years participation. The 4-.1-1 Beef Silver Dollar Competition is in its second • year,the result „of demands for a senior level show based on a beef heifer calf project. All other top level beef shows are based on a steer calf project which ends when the steer goes to market. The heifer calf has the advantage that the 4 -Her can keep her to form the nucleus of a future herd, This year, 34 beef calves Nere, entered in the competition and 59 dairy calves, The shows were held at the Erin Fairgrounds on Sunday.
