Miss Nancy Harkness, of Kirkconnel, Dumfriesshire,
Scotland, visited recently with john and Catherine
Plumtree, of Clinton renewing a OM friendship. made
during Miss Plumtree's visit to Kirkconnel in search of
family history details. Ms Harkness, was also entertained
hy Mrs. Margaret Whyte and family of Holm •Farm,
Hullett, Mr, and Mrs. William J. McDowell, Seaforth, and
Mr. and Mrs, Sam Scott, RR 2, Seaforth (Roxboro) all of
whom share an association with Kirkconnel through their
pioneer ancestors.
Miss Harkness was. delighted with Huron County
scenery and cbmate, the weather having put on its best
face and prc:iduced ideal conditions for her first visit to
Canada,
Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Murray went on a motor trip to
Montreal and Quebec City. They also visited the Shrine of
Saint Anne de Beaupre.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ungarian and family of Roblin
Manitoba and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ungarian of Scarboro,
Ontario were visitors, of Mr, and Mrs. Steve Lupul.
Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Shelkey, the former Mary Reid,
formally of S,s_aforth Mrs. Hazel Blake, London and Leslie
Bristow of Royal Oak Michigan visited with Mr. and Mrs.
W,J. McDowell,
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dale spent last week in Ottawa
attending a convention of the Soil Conservation Society of
America held in the Chateau Laurier Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Devereaux and Brenda of London
accompanied by Carolyn O'Reilly visited Mr, and Mrs. ,Joe
Devereaux on the weekend. '
Mrs. Nina Campbell of London visitedseveralda'ys with
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Steele.
Violet and Bruce Smith and Laura Fischer have returned,
home after spendingthe past few weeks in Newfoundland
with Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Woodman and family.
