The Huron County public
library now has books for
everyone including about
1,000 county residents .who
can't read.
On Thursday Hurort
county council approved the,
purchase of 10 .books
specially prepared to help
illiterates learn to read.
Council increased the library
budget by 5120' to permit the '
books •to be bought
immediately.
County librarian Bill
Partridge told council the
number of illiterates in
Huron. county had risen
sharply inrecent years. He
told council the illiterates.
had learned to cope in society
despite their handicap and
lead an interesting life. He
said the people will "hp
open bags in grocety stores',
and putt their fingers in to
deterniine if the bag contain;

sented a piano recital. The
highlight was, .having two
pianos, one girt playing on
each piano. Then four play-
ing. two on each piano.
There were 18 students;

Stephen Horst, Jane, Brent
and, Anne .Robinson. Blair
and Beverly Beuerman, Con-

Christian ,and Carol Rock.
There were 100 parents and
guests, attending.
It was a very enjoyable
evening, for all: and a great
success and concluded with a
luncheon,.

Their grandsons recently
spent two weeks with their
grandparents and uncles; on
the farm and had returned
home with their parents: the

home and intend to reside in
California later. The honey-
mooners will enjoy a couple
of weeks on the farm with
Susan's family. Congratu-
