We are very fortunate to
have a beautiful park like the .
Lion's Park for the use of the
area people, It deserves our
support.
Hymns sung were. ''On-
ward Joyful Christians," to
the tune of Onward Christian;
soldiers;
"Kum Ba Yah, my Lord!:
Kum Ba' Yah,", "He's got
the whole world in .His,
hands" were 'others..
A loud speaker had been
set up in the. pavilion which
took care of sound. As there
was. "no organ or piano for
accompaniment to the music -
a ukelele and autoharp were
used. Junior, intermediate
and senior choirs, were pres-
ent
resent and contributed..
After the service the group
went, to serve themselves
from'.: the tempting table of
goodies set up for :a picnic
pot luck lunch.
In groups they took their
places at tables set out in the
spacious wooded areas
where, a social time was
enjoyed. To.complete'a won-
derful day we were invited to
the J.A. Stewarts for a visit
on‘' their lawn:

memorials ,which had bee n
given over the last 144 years
of the congregation's life
were re dedleated and the
t;ongregatton stood In respect
to the Memories of those in
whose name the .me.mortal$.
were given.
The oldest gift is that of .a
Baptismal Bowl, and Cont-
munion Set which were sent
from Britain to Egmondville
when. the Church; was a
Presbyterian Cureh of Scot-
land, Along with the rededi-
cation of the Memorials and
their own vows to the service
of God; the Parish received
the intention of nine young
people who will make their
Confirmation Vows in 1980,
the Church's 1 -15th Anniver-
sary. Those making the inten-
tion for Confirmation in 12
months' time were Fay Eliza-
beth Carnochan, Patricia
Anne Coleman, Glenda Ged-
des, Cheryl June Haney, Ivy
Lynne Harrison, Laurie Anna
Mcl ntosh, Barry Rapier
Moore. Pauline Wallace„ and
Sylvia; Ariel Weed.

for Conflrmatton was made
;before the congregation and,
*prayer for their successfully
study was offered by the
Clerk of the Session, James
Montgomery. After the Ser-
vice the congregation en-
joyed a fellowship hour with
coffee, tea, and cool drinks
provided by the ladies of the
Church. Memoribilia from
the past were on display.

Egmondville Congregation.
An enthusiastic crowd atten-
ded, in spite of a rather
unseasonable cool wind. Old
hymns were sung, and the
congregation was encour-
aged to remember their past,
and to remember that at
some time in the future they,
too, would, be looked upon as
Pioneers in the Faith of
Christ,

ed minister 'is buried here as

grave of Reverend T. James
Elford, who died in Egmond-
ville after many faithful' years
of service to the Church, • is
Also in the community. Rever-
end Elford, the father of
Miss Florence and, Miss Alva
Elford, lived in Egmondville
from 1935 until his death. in
1952. During his retirement
yearshere he served Egmon,
dville Church in a myriad of
ffunetions- His brother, the
Reverend Herbert, C, Elford,.
brother of the Misses Elford,
is also buried in 'Egmondville
Reverend Herbert Elford ser-
ved assupply minister for
the six years he lived in this
area during his retirement.
After the church service,
the :congregation retreated
to the warmth of the present
Church for the annual, con -

taking the form of an indoor

t -luck dinner. Following
the fellowship of the meal
,games were played ,by,every-
one including the minister,
who failed to win at anything,
But those who did win are:
