one of the oldest family firms
in the village of A-Iensall,
having been funded in the
Year 1911, at that time being
run in partership with.
I3onthron Funeral Bireeter,
and furniture store. In 1•946,
the partners deeded tq
separate and DrYadales TA-
tained the hardware section,
Bob and Jack Drysdale
arehrothers who have spent
all their livesin Hensall.
Along with Bevan Bonthron,
they are now the only
Hensall merchant $ who are
nativeS of 'Henson. It was
their fathers. Mark Drysdale
and Jim Donthron who
decided on separating • the
businesses in 1946.
On Valentine's Day in1963
an advertiSernent proclaimett
a big .ehange. Drysdale's
Hardware was beconte
Crest Hardware. This change
gave the Orysdales nore
buying power, as Crest
owned about 80 stores M
Ontario,, About 197(). another
change was made, this time
to Home Hardware, 1'00
owned about 150.0(4Pres
across the country, a spite
of these change -S., Bob and
Jack have clung to some of
the old-fashioned customs,
among them being the fact
that coal -oil can still' be
bought in small quantities, In
1974, the appliance depart-
ment moved across the road
into part of the Fink
plumbing store, '
Bob - and, Jack were
educated at Hensall Public
School; Bob then went to
High School in London and
Jack to business " college.
Jack is a member of the K-40:
and a former president of the.
Kinsinan's Club. While he

His Wife Evelyn grew up
outside Zurich and attended

Brubacher is the daughter Of
Asa and Lillian teeltle of
Zurith.- She has worked in
secretarial and accounting
