of the hayfield River at the Egmondviller
bridge for the 7th Annual Seaforth Optimist
canoe race, Sunday afternoon.
The •participants were divided into seven
classes based mainly on ability.
Ted Cowan and Sid Strange both of
Brussels" in the Mens expert class, paddled
their canoe over the winding 12 -mile course
through Tuckersmith. Toy+nship farmland in;.
one' hour and 25 minutes for the fastest time
in reaching the finish at Vanastra Road
bridge east of Clinton, Julius Langpeter and
Ted McCabe of Windsor ,placed second in
this class,
Roger and Peter Harbocian of Harrow;:
with one hour 32 minutes, were frst'in the
Mens' advanced amateur class Don _Ver-
haeghe and Dale Weaver both- of Wallace
burg were second' in this class.''
