„up to study declining school enrolments by
the Perth County liOard, of Edueatlen•
The move is the first major step, the board
has taken in dealing with the growing `
problem of declining enrolment,
The committee, which will 'report its
findings and recommendations Nov. 20 of
This year, will study declining enrelteent and,
Its. implications in Perth County.
The committee is made up of seven
trustees, three community representatives
an elementary scheol principal and a
secondary school. principal, a senior
administrator and' plant department staff
member and a representative from each, of,
the three teacher's federations. •
Heading the committee will be Trosiet
Earl Oppenhauser of 'RR 3 Monkton,,
The committee has already held an,
organizational meeting and will hold its, first'
full meeting April 9. At that time Ale
committee members will decide whether the
rest of the meeting will be open to the
public,

the members of the committee reading and
discussing the contreveisial study by Dr. Rob
ert Jackson called the Final Report of the
Declining School Enrolments in Ontario.
