Seaforth and; area residents should start
getting their Easter Seals in the mail any day
pow with the launching of this year's annual
appeal by the Seaforth Lions Club'
- The campaign period runs this year :frorp
;March 5 until Easter Sunday, April by which.
time the club hoped to have raised $3,000, as
its share of the overall provincial objective
according to Datwin Bannerman who heads
the Lions Club Committee 'in charge of the.
campaign.
Club members have been busily engaged
stuffing and, addressing envelopesin prepar-
ation for this very special event, The Seaforth:
campaign area includes Seaforth and Seaforth,
rural, routes, Egmondville and Walton- ;and,
Walton rural routes,
The message that acfiompanies these seals
urges people to 'back a fighter with their,
donation,

The Ontario Society, for Crippled Children's 1979 Easter Seal
objective is S3,000,000. This figure is based on a carefulanalysis
of the Society's minimum needsin order to meet its obligation to
.almost :9,000 physically handicapped youngsters throughout
Ontario, .
Devoted to'the welfare of physically handicapped youngsters
throughout the. Province: the Ontario Society for Crippled
.Children, is based on the work of 233 affiliatedservice clubs and
financed .largely by contributions to its annual Easter Seal
appeal,
The Ontario Society for Crippled Children's services and
facilities are available to any youngster, in Ontario, whose:,

or other non-acute organic defect produces a physical handicap.,
The Ontario Society for Crippled. Children's objective is to
assist physically handicapped youngsters in achieving their
maximum potential by means of a comprehensive treatment and
-training program.

skilled diagnosis. clinical evaluation,, sPecialized dental services,

camping and community recreation programs, artificial limbs,

mer ,camping, transportation and special

'handicapped youngsters in the Seaforth area
for more than forty years, Mr. Bannerman
said, "We believe in the potential: of these
youngsters and in their 'fight for a better
chance in life. That's why we're asking people
to back these youngsters, with their J aster
Seal donations,'`
Anyone who fails: to. receive °their Easter
Seal appeal can still help. by Sending their tax
deductible donation to Mr, Bannerman, at
Seaforth or by leaving their gift at a Seaforth
bank,
braces and other aids, training tor employment, counselling and
medical' research.
The Ontario Society for Cnp ed Children's current active case
load: consist of almost` 9,000 physically handicapped children - -
throughout Ontario.
The '.Ontario Society • for Crippled Children's , 23 District
Nursing Offices provide a consulting nursing 'serviceto
physically handicapped children and their parents in the home
through its 40 specially trained public health nurses.
- 'The Ontario' Society. for Crippled Children's five summer
camps provide the largest specialized camping program of its
kind inthe worldto more than 1,000 physically handicapped
youngsters s each year.
