IVIOVING, DAY FOR THE.SAND S FAMILY
As Hook back now. I think how hard it must have been
for .lohn Sands and his wife, Annie McDenald, to close the
door and gate to that old home for the last time. It was.
there he was here and there she came as e.bride on March
28th, 1877. Ther the family had been born and from that
heMe his brothers and sister had gone one by one to make
homes of their own. It was to that home that his mother
and father had come after long weeks crossing the
Atlantic, Then followed the long trek through the woods
until they arrived at this place.
Here in East Williams the little clearing was made and
their first log house was erected. From here with the help
oEtherfamily. they b ed and; cleared the soil and
bent the new horn. Man a Sunday service was held in
the first log house ,R.nti1''the church was built a short
distance to the weet'sonte years after.'
