• PAUL MURRAY WINS•
Paut:Murray', R. R. #5, Seaforth, back rovv,
centre took first place in the Western Ontario
Tractor Pullers' Association 16,000 and 18.'000
stock classes in 1978. Paul had a 255 out of a
PoSsible 270 points. Awards were presented at *
the association's awards dinner at the LuCknow
District Community Centre on Saturday night.
Other winners in the classes Were front row,
left to right, Norm Clarke, Fing,n1, third, in the
16,000 class and second in the 18,000 class, Don
Ferris, R. R. #1, Tiverton, second in the 10,000
and third in .the 18,000 and Gord. Mitchell,
Listowel, who 1001A fourth in both classes. Back
row, left to, right are Paul Eedy, Dungarinon,
fifth, in the 18.000 stock and sixth in the 18,000;
Paul Murray, R. R. #5, Seaforth first in booth
classes and Eldon Colwell, R. R. #2, Cargill,
fifth in the 18,000 class.

Morris hears about
code of practice
,Sam Bradshaw of the Department of
Agriculture and Food talked to Morris council
Monday to discu4s the Agricultural Code of
• Practice and the certificate of compliance -
He -said that the code tried to site any
source of pollution such as:a liquid manure
• tank so far from a neighbour's house.
He said that quite a few townships had
adopted code compliance into their building
permits issuing. A proper distance between
a barn and a house depends on what kind of
• animals are going to be in the barn. how big
the operation is, how mueh, it's going to
expand.and what kind of manure
system -liquid, solid, orserni-solid was used
. be said. •
In other business Morris council heard.
. that the 179 subsidy allocation for roads
was S30,000 for construction and 895,000„for
maintenance fora total of $155,000. MTC
sent a. letter regarding the proposed
replacement of Martin's bridge saying that
their consultant should now proceed with the
design • of this bridge.Council gave a
donation of S10 to the Huron' County
Historial Society. • ••
• Council also discussed having a meeting
where the general public would be invited to
.come and listen to council business. Council
member Ross Procter saidhe would lilce it to
be common knowledge' that the Public can
come to any meeting they feel like but that
on March 30, 'the council's April meeting,
the public was especially invited to attend.

of marketing all the white and yellow -eye
beans produced in Ontario. This year they
took in 1 million, 600 thousand hundred-
