Although there are still not enough gids to mak" a competitive team, a boys team will be `Com ting in the schools boys competi- tion in Teeswater on Jan. 11 and 12 run this year by the Ontario Curling Association. The team includes Dave Campbell. skip, Ron Pryce.''vice, Todd Doig. second and Bruce Morton, lead. Replacing Bruce in a spiel this week in Toronto will be Jeff Reid. "We have'a really good boys team this year. We have more girls coming out this year but st ll not enough to compete. There's room for expansion though, in both boys and girls," says Irma Pryce_ By organizing fun events. the club hopes to attract more young people. A Christmas party last week attracted some new peiople, but it's not certain they'll become regulars, says Mrs. Pryce. The membership at the curling club is up this year although it has lost some members who have moved away or suffered injuries along with gaining some. Mrs. Pryce says hockey and broomball are -big competitors to the sport of curling in Seaforth. "They take away a lot of the interest there could be in curling. Some towns have waiting lists to get oh curling teams." she says. This year. the club has been trying to attract more members by talking more about curling and advertising more. Mrs. Pryce also went to the recent recreation conference to look for members. "1 don't knowif well get more members from it but it certainly did enlighten people that we're here," she says.
