Many Kippen residents had to change their
-well-made plans to visit relatives and friends
or entertain the same due to the arctic storm
which gripped the area on Christmas Eve and
Christmas Day. It was probably a toss up
whether to put the turkey in the oven or just
make do with tuna sandwiches and table the
turkey for a later date.

VALUE TO THE BEREAVED
The family of the deceased must have an
outlet for their grief, an outpouring,
according to Dr Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
and others, is necessary Sorrow shared
is sorrow diminished, and the fathering
of friends and relatives at visitations
provides an opportunity for this outpour-
ing of grief
Visitations will also add to the many
statements of the very fact of death and
will aid in the family's realization of this
fact Furthermore, those attending the
wake or visitation are given the chance to
console the bereaved personally and
offer their assistance to the family
Other direct and indirect benefits
derived from the visitation are numer-
ous For more information, you may wish
to stop by or write to me I will be pleased
to counsel with you
