The market at Qrussels Stockyards traded
actively with steers and heifers selling SI - S2
highest Cows sold under pressure. Pigs sold
' slightly easier. There were 824 cattle and
1460 pigs on offer.
Choice steers - 79.00 to 83.00 with'sales to,
86.85
Good steers - 76.00 to 79.00
Four heavy steers consigned by Bruce
Bros. of R.R.I. Belgrave averaging 1357 lbs.
sold for 86.85, with their total offering of
eleven steers averaging 1397 lbs. and selling
for an overall price of 82.76.
A steer consigned by McCutcheon Farms
of Thorndale, weighing 1180 lbs. sold for
85.25, with their total lot of thirty-one steers
averaging 1102 lbs. and selling for an average
price 4, 82.10.

Volunteer workers and food donors for the
Mesta on Wheels program were entertained
at the home of Alice and Aleda Shantz.
Guests included: Miriam Zehr, co-ordina-
tor and helper; Alice and Aleda Shantz,
entree cooks; Ida Evans, Frances Vander -
Veen, Jane DeVries, Betty Cowing, Jean
Bewley, Margaret McLeod, Ella Steckley,
drivers knd kitchen help; Leona Armstrong.
Kathy Workman, Alice artin and Sharon
Freeman, home workers and doners of food.
Helpers unable to attend were Margaret
Taylor, Mary Baan, Betty Graber and Marion
Wideman.
Since September, the grouphas served an
average of30seniors in ther humes every
Tuesday. The menu is varied each day and
dessert is always served. Three dollars is
charged for each meal.
On Dec. 20, the group is planning a
Christmas dinner for all participants and
workers to be served at the BMG community.

would like to come to this dinner may do so
