for the Sant Claus parade. The parade was
held Saturday under sunny shies, Over 30
floats and three bands were featured. Santa
handed ,out candy canes to bright-eyed
youngsters following the parade.

A 'large gathering of ladies attended the
annual and Christmas meeting of the
Cromarty Ladies Aid. held in the decorated
basement of the church on Monday evening
Dec. 5.
Special guest for the evening was Steve
Hildebrand. Seaforth, who demonstrated the
art of creating beautiful floral and evergreen
arrangements for the holiday season. Steve
donated a corsage and arrangement to Mrs.
Robert Laing and Mrs. Clifton Miller.
Jean Carey presided and devotions were
taken by Mrs. Tom Scntt.

'Hibbert township council has a minor
pollution problem right in their own back
yard. Tests taken during Nov. show the well,
which serves the township hall, had a fecal
content reading of 4-2 while a second test,
taken two weeks later, showed the contamin-
ation level at 2-2-
' In his report to the council, Hibbert clerk
Charles Fnend, said the major problem with
the well is not enough water is used. Mr.
Friend added that although the ministry is
not pleased with the readings there is no
immediate problem with the well.
During the discussion of the methods
which could be used Mr. Friend said one of

The well, which is closed with concrete lid
and is covered with earth, is shallow and
•runoff contributed to the problems with the
water.
After further discussion of the problem. it
was decided by the council to have the
township clerk get information and prices on
ultra violet purifying system for the well.

enjoyed a Christmas dinner served by the
Glen Gourie Women's Institute on Tuesday
Dec. 6 in the, Township Hall.
Special guest, M`rs. Craig Kerslake demon-
strated how to construct a cone and nut

It was decided to have secret pals for 1984
and to contact the Riverside Nursing Home
regarding what the W.I. could do for them.
The dessert euchre which was planned for
Feb. 14 has been changed until March 12 in
the Township hall.
Robert McCaughey is a patient in $eaforth
Community Hospital.

THE CHAIRMAN and vicechairman of the
Huron -Perth Separate School Board remain
the same for the coming year. Michael
Moriarty (lett) of RR2 Bayfield was named
vice-chairman, while Ron Murray of RR2
Dublin will sit for his third term as chairman.

The celebration began with a special mass
offered by Father Frank Moylan at -St. Louis
R.C. Church, Waterloo. During the Mass the
Moylans exchanged rings and renewed their
vows. Following mass about 26 guests went
to the Cygnus Tavern in Kitchener for dinner
and a social gathering.
Mr. and Mrs. Moylan have a family of two
children, Denise, Mrs. Bill Weiler and
Kenneth, both of Kitchener and three
grandchildren.

Evan Ryan, son of Don and Brenda Ryan, at
Sacred Heart R,C. Church in Delaware on
Sunday, Dec. 11.
