to 8 per cent were approved for the
administration staff of the Hilton -Perth
Separate School Board at its Nov. 28 Meeting.

The director's present salary of 555,500'
will increase by 6.5 per cent to 559,130
effective Jan. 1, 1984 which places that salary
110,000 above the maximum principal's
salary. In January of 1985, the director's
salary will increase to S11,000 above the
maximum principal's salary.
The maxlmu t�, , I cipal's salary for 1985
won't be dete '1 I ed until sometime next
year when a co lective agreement between
the board and the Huron -Perth unit of the
Ontario English CatholicTeachers' Associa-
tion is reached.
The superintendent of education's salary,
as of Jan. 1, 1984 will be 55,000 above the
maximum principal's salary. His present
salary of 550,000 will increase to 554,130. In
January of 1985 the superintendent's salary
will increase to 56,000 above the maximum
principal's salary.
The superintendent of business and
finance will have his present salary -of 543,400
increased to 545,465.
In January of 1985, the superintendent's
salary increases to 51,600 below the maxi-
mum 'principal's salary and in January of
1986, the salary increases to.500 above the
maximum principal's
The salary increasesfor them positions are
subject to the Ontario Restraint Act and could
be rolled back.
The co-ordinator of maintenance will hive
his salary increased from 524,600 to 525,700.
The ,s�aal1ary for this position is $7,500 abtrve
she41tII-time custodial rate.
The secretarial staff at the board ornee
received a S per cent increase, bringing the
salaries uplfrom 115,815 to 516,615.
Ail salaries were dealt with in committee -of
-the-whole, but trustees discussed the
director's salary in the open portion of the
meeting.
Chairman Ronald Murray asked where the
personnel committee got the 110,000 and
511,000 (above maximum principal's salary)
from.
"1 get the impression that the committee is
dying to bridge the disparity between our
local director's salary and similar positions in
other counties," said Stratford trustee John
Devlin.
"I noticed that the trustees conference
account is 52,700 over budget," -said Mr.
Marcy.
A recorded vote was taken to approve the
director's salary. Those in favor were Vincent
McInnes, Arthur Haid Michael Moriarty,
William Kinahan, Ronarty, Dave Durand,
John Devlin and Michae Ryan. -
Those opposed were Ray Van Vliet, Tim
McDonnell, Ron Murray, Louis Maloney and
Gerald Groothius.

The B.I.A. has been receiving some negative response to our 2ND ANNUAL
CHRISTMAS AUCTION. People are complaining because there was an uneven
distribution of Auction Bucks last year. We have taken steps to ensure that the
distribution of Auction Bucks follows the B.I.A. rules.
1. All Auction Bucks are numbered consecutively.
2 The B.I.A. has a record of which numbers each merchant received.
3 The Auction Bucks presented at the auction sale will be scrutinized to ensure
that no one has consecutively numbered bucks. Anyone having consecutively
numbered bucks will be shot, or not allowed to make a purchase.
So get shopping and saving for the Auction & Draw Friday, Dec. 16th, 7 p.m. at
McLaughlin Chev-Olds.
