Saturday as a fund raiser: (here was an
excellent turnout for it with buyers elbow to
elbow. Fbr sale were arta and crafts, most of
which were made by the residents them-

Crowd packs bazaar
Anne Helm II,O,C. and Mary Finlayson,
Activities Co•ordinater welcomed all tb the
annual bazaar and tea at .SeafOrth Health
Care. Facility on Saturday with capacity
crowds in attendance.
Whiner of the quilt was Mary Crawford of
R.R.#3, Goderich. The flower arrangement
by Hildebrand Flowers was won by
Margaret McCowan.
Pouring tea were Mary Nolan, Margaret
Smale,_Mary 'Mclven and Cassie Nicholson.
In charge of the tea room were Aline
Rowland and Mary Catherine Lane. Waitres-
ses were Denise Williamson, Janice Carter,
-Judy Nigh and Debbie Nolan.
In charge of the tea lunch were Evelyn
Carter, Evelyn Querenguesser and Veronica
Vincent.
In charge of admission and tickets were
Tracy McLebd and Ivy Harrison.
Church service and communion was
conducted by Rev. G. Simmons on Wednes-
day afternoon with Miss Jill Wheatley
accompanying for the hymns. On Friday
afternoon Father C. Caruana had mass for
all -Catholic residents and Sister Mary Louis
alsoattended.
A Hallowe'en party and dance was
enjoyed by all last Monday afternoon with a
number of residents and staff in costume.
Music was supplied by Gladys Van Egmond,
Elgin Nott and Mr. Cantelon of Clinton. Sid
Pearson thanked everyone. Julie Carter also
visited in costume and treated everyone.
UCW holds bridal shower
The Egmondville (T,C.W. met with a good
attendance. The President opened the
meeting with Minna Scott at the piano. Mary
Helen McLachlan read a poem and Merelyn
McKnight sang.
A shower was held for new bride Rev.
Cheryl -Ann Stadelbauer Sampa, the mini-
ster.
The U.C.W. presented a fashion chew in

costumes from "Another World of Fashion"
with Mary Helen as commentator.
Rev,' Cheryl Ann was asked to come
forward and was presented with many useful
and lovely gifts. She Was assisted by her
mother.
Rev. Cheryl Ann thanked everyone after
which a social hour was enjoyed.

FATHER NOLAN
Nev. Father 'Aloysius Leo Nolan, former
priest at St. Attmbrose, Brussels, died at St.
Patricks Rectory, Kinkoia on Thursday, Nov.
3, 1983 in his 67th year. Father Nolan
attended St. Peters, De LaSalle, in London.
He was ordained into the priesthood in
1942 and served as assistant pastor at St.
de
Cle nt's Church; Preston' until 1944. From
1944 to 1948 he served at Our Lady of Mercy
Church, Sarnia; 1948 at St. Joseph's, Sarnia;
1949 to 1959'St. Peter's Church, Sarnia; 1959.
to 1965 St. Gabriel's Church, Windsor; 1965
to 1969 St. John Vianney's, Windsor; 1969 to
1971 at St. Pius X, London; 1971 to 1977
Sacred Heart Church. Wingham and St.
Ambrose Church, Brussels.
In 1977 he was named pastor of St.
Patrick's Parish, Kinkora where he re-
mained until bis passing. While serving as
parish priest in Kinkora, he celebrated his
40th Anniversary in the priesthood.
The son of the late William Nolan and
Rose Murphy, he was ,a brother of Sister
Benedict, Order of St. Joseph, London;
Sister Mary Leo, Order of Loretto, Toronto;
Vincent of Komoka; William of Sarnia and
Charles of Greenock. He was predeceased
by Alice and John of London.
Visitation was held at St. Patrick's Roman
Catholic Church, Kinkora from Saturday
until Monday morning. A concelebrated,
mass of the Christian burial was offered by
Bishop Sherlock, Bishop of the Diocese of
London, Monday,at 10130 a.m. Interment in
St. Patrick's Church Cemetery. A commun-
ity wake service was held Sunday evening at
8:OOp.m. 86 concelebrants and many sisters
were in attendance.
Pallbearers were Jerome Kelly; Mike
McDonnell; Joe McIver; Rae White; Francis .
Ryan and Peter Bokkers. Flowerbearers
were Jeannette Boersen and Julie Rolph.
M.L. Watts Funeral Home, Brussels was in
charge of the arrangements.
MARY CATHERINE CARTER
Mary Catherine Carter of Richmond Hill
died Tuesday, Nov, 1, 1983 at Princess
Margaret Hospital iii Toronto. A native of
McKillop, she was the daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Downey and attended
Beechwood School and Seaforth Collegiate
Institute.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond
a daughter Donna, Mrs, M. Weir, and sons
Raymond and Richard. A'brother, Richard
Downey of McKillop and a sister, Anne
Downey of Seaforth and three grandchildren
Quinn, Genevieve, and Rosalee also survive.
A funeral mass was held Friday, Nov. 4, in
Our Lady Queen of the World Church,
Bayview Ave., Richmond Hill. Interment
followed at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorial donatlbnis.may be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrange-
ments were in charge of the Marshall
Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge St., Richmond
(fill. '
