Mr. and Mrs. Sid Barnes and son Don of London visited Mrs. Ida Gordon on the weekend. Mr, and Mrs. Fred Stevenson and family and Mrs. Anna Lee Smith and children, all of Toronto spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Stevenson. W.I. QUILT TOP SOLD The Cranbrook W.I. met at the home of Mrs. Clare Veitch on Oct. 6 with 11 members present. A film on world food supply was shown, and a report of the Fall Rally was given by Mrs. Leslie Knight. • A rug braiding course .is coming up. The W.I. quilt top was sold to Ruth Harding for S60. A Tweedsmuir workshop will be held at the Brussels Library on Nov. 7 at 9:30 a,m. Local 4-H clubs are undergoing drastic changes, partly due to a cut in provincial government financing. This would mean the W.I. may have to provide more flnancial backing for future clubs. The next meeting will be at the Grey Central School on "Special Education" on Nov. 3 at 8:15 p.m. CRANBROOK B 4-H CLUB The first meeting of Cranbrook 11 was held on Sept. 26 at the home of Diane Elston. No elections we r held but the offices were were filled on a volunteer basis. Lori Terpstra volunteered for president. Kendra Baillie for vice-president and Diane Prescott for secretary and press reporter. After reading over the general require- ments and the special project topics we went on to the introduction of "Looking Great, Feeling Great". We passed our books around and everyone signed their names in each other's "Grooming Greetings" chart. We then filled in the • "What made ,you choose? chart. We also decided that for an additional home activity, each member would think of a club nante. The second meeting was held after meeting 1 as we had decided to combine the two meetings. We answered the roll call and filled in our "Fitness Personalities" chart. We looked at Canada's Food Guide and filled in the balanced diet chart. We also named three things we could do to improve our eating habits. At the end of the meeting we agreed to ask a .hairdresser to the next meeting to talk about hair care. The Grand Champion, winner of the Modern Livestock Trophy, was Sandy McDonald/of R.R. 3, Teeswater. PAMELA dOY WILSON Pamela Joy Wilson of RR1 Wroxeter died suddenly Oct, 9, 1983. She was 18 and an honor student at Grade 13 in F.C. Madill Secondary School. She issurvived by parents,, Bonnie and Bill Taylor of RR1 Wroxeter and sisters Heather and Linda Wilson, at home and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Ritchie. Mr, and Mrs. Eldon Wilson, of Brussels and Mrs. Nellie Taylor of Gorrie. She was predeceased by her father, Frank Wilson, in 1970. .-She rested at the Gorrie Chapel of the ML Watts Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at Gorrie United Church Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lloyd Martin officiating. Burial in Brussels Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Horton; Rick Pbel, Mkt Duncan, Rob Ritchie, ,teff. Moore and Braft Horton. Flower bearers were Leanne Wright. Karen Pennington, Anne Kerna- ghan, Shirley Loree, Julie Mulvey, Celia Chandler, Lad'rie Ritchie and Mary Jean Kel•naghan. Mrs, Bertha Cook -who was a patient in the Wingham and District Hospital was trans- ferred to' Victoria Hospital, London on Thursday.
