Many of the policy's recommendations
that municipalities vecognire the importance
of volunteers, develop programs of leader-
ship training, and encourage cooperation
between. groups - are already being done in
Seaforth,.
We're already depending on volunteers
and we know that we have to cooperate to
get things done in town," says Mr. Peter.
The Nov. 5 Seaforth and district recreation
conference, though it follows the policy, was
planned before the policy was formed in
response to the needs ofthevarious groups
in town.
While the policy recommends that com-
munity groups become more financially
independent, Mr. Peter says that Seaforth
groups already work hard for their money
without being dependent on tax dollars.
- "It's going to be a fact of life that grants
are going to be cut back but most groups in

The community recreation conference,
planned for Nov. 5 at the Seaforth and
District Community Centres, will have 30 to
40 groups represented. •
"We're going to have a good response,"
says Mr. Peter.
