Our girls won two games, tied one game and lost two games. They came in fourth out of all the schools. The boys tied one game and lost four games. They carne in fifth out of all the schools. THANKSGIVING • Oct. 7, the grade 1's had Thanksgiving more wildlife wilLbe discussed. After an interesting and inviggorating hike, hot apple cider will be 'available, The Bannockburn Wildlife Area is located 4 km. west of Brueetield off Highway #4. This 62 acre property's varied habitat includes Itardwood'bush, freshwater stream, cedar swamp, old field, wet meadow and cattail marsh. Hikers are advised to dress for the weather, wear boots and bring cameras and binoculars. The hike is free of charge and is sure to be a great family outing. dinner. Kippen kids get Sunday School awards The Thanksgiving service at St. Andrews' was held on Oct. 9. Pastor Don Moffat delivered a very moving and thoughtful Thanksgiving sermon reminding all of the many bountiful blessings from Almighty God for which we should be truly thankful. Mrs. Gerald Moffattresided at the organ. In the minister' ofpmusic the choir presented "To God Be The Glory". Communion service will be held on Oct. 16 at 10 a.nt. The concert kicks off the Blyth Centre for the Arts' 83-84 children's series,' The Whitelys have been performing for children and adults for eighteen years. ' Together they play over a dozen instru- ments. The brothers are founding members of the Original Sloth Band, and are popular regulars in the Mariposa in the schools program. They've played with Raffi, Sharon, Lois and Bram and recently produced their own hit children's record, "Junior Jug Rand". The secretary. Joan Binnendyk called on the members for the roll call. The cover picture. drawn by Dianne Vanneste was given to members to trace. Margaret Hoggarth discussed the count- down for good shopping, and members took turns reading the ten points given. Penny Savage went over the six state- ments on hair facts or fiction. Members made a very hasty retreat from the house into the Savage's van. and all went down the road to Janet Lovell's house for a thorough demonstration on hair care, Lois Binnendyk and Janet Hoggarth, had their hair shampooed, cut and blow dryed. Janet had hers curled with the curling iron too. Then two different blow dryers, one 1500, and the other 1000 watts were compared. Janet Lovell demonstrated how to make up a face, Lori Faber was the face. and she 'looked nice when it was all done • - Linda Binnendyk thanked Janet Lovell for her time and work and presented her with a gift.
