What sight is more beautiful that

woman, new-born babe in her arms, her
radiant face beaming with joy?
Wo would do well to take heed of these
wads, -"To make a success of what we
undertake we must understand the differ-
ence between motion and, cllrectlon. If we
were travelling from one price to another we
would never :arrive there if we wandered

going. The same applied to whatever we
undertake. We must first decide on our
objective and then on how we are going to
achieve it. It will do no good to fritter away
time t}ad effort in useless motion. We need
to consider the direction we must take to
accomplish what we have set out to do. This
is so of anything we undertake to do, be it in
business, a profession, marriage, or every-
day life in our homes. Motion without
direction will not make a success of

Watching a recent T.V. program that
featured computers and what is being done
with them was a scary experience. Certainly
computers are an amazing development in
technology and are put to good use in many
ways. It is the misuse of them that is
frightening. The abuse of the capabilities of
computers is rapidly increasing and is the•
cause of deep concern. It was said that
anyone with a knowledge of computers, the
time, patience and dedication, could use
them to their own advantage, to acquire
secret information, or for the mere fun of
interfering with other computers. Banks,
government, business firms and personal
computers have been invaded by such
people who seem to be devoting a great deal
of their time to such purpose. It was even
said that a war could be won by computers
without a shot being fired. Awesome, it is,
what can be done by these complex
machines in the hands of unscrupulous
programmers.

to find one of these pamphlets I might be
best to omit the instruction that headed each
recipe. It said "First pour three ounces of
Scotch into the cook.'

It was reassuring, after the recent rash .of
4jr Canada accidents, when the report of the
leader of the team of aviation experts said,
lifter a'atudy of the airline's operations, "he
had never seen a better airline" also "Air
Canada crews are among the finest in the
world. They are trained More than any of us
have ever seen." This man had been a pilot
for 37 years with Trans World Airlines and
had investigated 22 airlines around the
world. His seven -team of experts discussed
how they could release such information
without it looking like a whitewash. He said
there was a lot of "nit -picky" stuff in' the
report but no major complaints about Air
Canada. This statement came at just the
right time to banish a ...Any bit of
apprehension about winter flying while
making a reservation for a flight to Winnipeg
for Christmas.
It is not only with revulsion, but also
sadness,- we read what some 13 and
14 -year-old girls` have done, Two Kingston
area gars of that age were charged with
armed robbery. Wearing masks, one armed
with a .22 calibre rifle, the other carrying a
hatchet, held up the attendant of a grocery
store and stole $1,500 in cash. One g,irl fired
a shot which passed through the attendant's
pant leg. A 14 -year-old girl in Auburn,
California, stabbed an 85 -year-old woman to
death with a butcher knife. She said she had
"lots of fun" doing it. What, in their young
lives, led them to rob and murder? Children
do not have an inborn instinct for such
crines. Something, or someone, `turned
them in that direction.
