CNE ,trip doe - fYP IC1ABib11V iii Recently I had the oppot tuln)tyto go to the Canadian National Exhibition, one. of thg world's largest faits. It Is always really exciting to go to the CNE . to see all the exhibits and go on rides. This year 1 even had the chance to go to the grand standshow at night where we saw the crowning of Miss CNE, It was a really nice day at the fair. The CNE is a lot of fun and 1 sure loved being there. Besides all of the buildings and midway, there is also food, lots of food. That's the part. that 1 like! In a whole building full of all types of foods. there is a spaghetti and meatsauce for 75c, french fries' for as cheap as 50c, hamburgs, hot dogs, corn on the cob. pizza, Chinese food, tacos and many kinds of food that 1 have never. heard of. The food building is so big that they even have a sign in each row so that you can find things and won't get lost. SENSATIONAL The midway is also sensa- tional, much different from midways around here. You could easily spend a whole day without spending any 'time in the other buildings. There are several roller coasters, ferns wheels, a merry-go-round, and many more rides. Then there. were all sorts of games of chance which promise that you will win terrific prizes such as • ' ' have to • be: co l , ge ill sffed anlnlals, }tow, Vec,,eyyl'.don't tell you that Y.90, w'lll have -to blow $1,0 in Order til d9 40, Not a good deal since the prize may only be worth, 56:991 However, it is enterta• A PICNIC .Each of these things to do at the CNE, 'although lots of fun, costs money, which is not entirely necessary. You could probably have a great day at the CNE and only pay admission. It is not necessary to buy your lunch at the Exhibition. In fact you could probably even have a better lunch by taking a picnic lunch and eating it beside Lake Ontario. And there is lots to see in all of the buildings scattered through- out the grounds. There is a building where you could spend lots of time watching the horse show. Children mold gond pet baby animals in the same build- ing. When we were at the Exhibition, the horse from the movie The Black Stallion was there for children to see and pet. Teenagers could amuse themselves for a great deal of time in a tent featuring arcade games. It costs noth- ing to play these games although your time is limit- ed. I'm sure a lot of girls could have a great time browsing through the many displays of clothing, jewel- lery and cosmetics in build- ings of the CNE. It costs nothing to look, as long as UREA FORMALDEHYDE FOAM INSULATION- ,t'ofr willp9weo' 9s Pod The' Queen gkipiVeth banding features.a BVOAdwaY type in: l*al.fos 20 miltutes that is absolutdlyp free• The Spurts Hall of .;Fame -t:puld easily occupy an NO or two of a sports fan's afternoon .if he or she wanted --to..see everything. There are many demonstrations of new gad- gets and recipes Many people have said that the CNE Is a lot of fun if you are willing to accept the opnsequence of coming home broke. but emptying your pockets is not necessary. You can still have Tots of fun by seeing how little you can spend and how much you can do. The CNE is a super place to visit but it makes me' feel really fortunate to live in Seaforth. It gets too crowd- ed. People bump into you without saying excuse me. i realize that there is a big difference in the population of the city and of Seaforth; but 1 am still glad to live in a small town like Seaforth where you can go to the Fall Fair and enjoy yourself with friends you are fad'iiliar with. The midway and games may not be as big or as thrilling but the whole atmosphere is more caring and on the whole much better.
