It is undoubtedly hard to take when those of his own party are openly rejecting him. An increasing number of Liberal MPs are demanding he resign. They insist that without a new leader there is little hope for the Liberal party in the election expected next year. They claim the people want a change in personalities. Trudeau is now a far cry from the "darling" of Canadians who saw him as the hope of a bright future for Canada, The vaunted charisma has gone. Even his own want him out. ******* What will they think of next? There arc all kinds of toothbrushes available, short ones. long ones, straight ones, bent ones. ones with short bristles, long bristles. in colours to match your bathroom decor. electric ones. Now an ingenious inventor has come up with a musical toothbrush. If teeth arc brushed properly it will play music for 90 seconds, the time he considers right for a good brush. It might intrigue kids for a time. How tiresome would hearing that same tune several times every day be tt it was loud though to be heard over the slushing and spitting of brushing. ******* There are those who claim that Canada Postal Service -has improved considerably. that mail delivery is much faster than it was, A correctly addressed, prepaid letter, clearly marked rush, mailed in Ottawa on a Tuesday did not reach its destination in Seaforth until a week frdm the following Thursday, Can that, by any stretch of the imagination he called "improved" service? People sometimes complain that living in a small community everyone seems to know all about you and your affairs. That is, in a way true. Yet the general public and those we have close association with seldom actually poke and pry into things that arc none of their business. It is 'just general knowledge enhanced by the human fault of gossiping. There are no snoopers watching our every move. How would we like the fish -bowl existonge of :the .members of our Royal' fancily? All the world interested- in our doings, ambitions, inconsiderate persons always waiting and watching to report any interesting morsel, even more avidly for anything they can fan into a scandal. Then there arc those who have been dose to them - who, out of disappointment, injured feelings. and anger. are all too ready to add fuel to the lice. 'rhe latest of these is the American girl that 'Prince Andrew was involved with. It scents the phone calls and gifts front him have stopped. She is said to have threatened to reveal the intimate details of their association, If she sloes she cared little for Prince Andrew and has little respect for herself, It must have been the prestige and notoriety association with that she was interested in. ******* the 'Toronto Blue Jays are fluttering up. down. hut do not count them out yet. They seem to have an amazing ability to get behind in the early innings then come blasting on in late. or overtime innings, to slide by for a win, At this ntontcnt (of writing) they share the top spot in the standings with another team. The 'fornntu Argos. of the C.F.L. won four games then lost two with critics saying their offence had lost their drive. They refuted that on Friday night witu a decisive 27-17 win over the Ottawa Roughriders.
