who Have celebrated an 80th
birthday.

Two birthday cakes were
cut.
Mrs. Earl Anderson, the

A short worship service
followed,
Mrs, Clifford ,Logan, who
had recently attended a ses-
sion at Westminster College,
London, gave a resume of tate
twenty-third psalm.

The sympathy of the com-
munity is extended to the
family of the late Hiram
Blanchard. Hiram was a
life-long resident of the com-
munity and member of Cavan
United Church, Winthrop.
A shower was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Tony
Wolfcamp, Bornholm for
Vickie Harris who will wed in
September.
Shirley Wolfcamp. sister of
Vickie, and Joanne Maloney
were the hostesses. Joanne
conducted several contests
and Vickie's young nieces
presented her with many
lovely gifts from those pre-
sent. Vickie thanked :every-
one and invited them to visit
her in their new home in
Palmerston after her mar-

utory holidays. The vending
machines will be in operation
so that coffee, hot chocolate,
soft drinks and chocolate
bars may be obtained. Cigar-
ettes will have to be pur-
chased before the weekends.
Don't forget there will be a
garage sale at Huronview on
September 1 from 12:30 till
3:30 in the afternoon. Sale
will be held outside. if
weather permits.
A warm welcome is ex-
tended to Mrs. Loletta Pett -
man of Goderich, who has
come to reside at Huronview.
Mrs. Pettman will be living
on Ground Center.
Some of the residents rode
in the new van to Stratford
last Wednesday on a shop-
ping spree. The party was
made up of Mabel Scott, Ann
Scott, Edith Aldington, Hel-
en Bradley, Pearl McFarlane
Margaret McQueen, Jim
Wilson, Eber Lewis, Frank
Bissett and accompanying
them, Jane Ladd.
They arrived back in time
to attend the August" birth-
day party. This event was
convened by the Women's
Institute of Walton. who
presented a delightful and
refreshing variety concert.
A very young man, Blaine
Marks, thrilled the audience
on the violin. Margery
Humphries accompanied
Blaine at the piano. Pearl
McCallum entertained by
playing old favorites on the
mouth organ.
Three young sisters, Don-
na, Nancy and Sharon God -
kin sang a couple of popular
sons, Accompanist was
their mother Marion Godkin.
Marci McCall. Kevin and
Carrie Mcllwain danced a
routine of clog, jig and reel.

piano. Phyllis Mitchell on
villin and Watson Webster
with mouth organ, played a
medley of old time dance
tunes. To add a little more
variety to the program.

given to some of the resi-
dents, and assisted by the
piano. mouth organ and
violin, played a couple of
lively tunes.
Anglican communion with
Reverend Gordon Simmons
was served on Tuesday after-
noon. This communion will
be observed the 2nd Tuesday
of every month and anyone
wishing to attend, may do so.
Huronview extends a
warm welcome to Mrs. Ethel
Stephenson of Clinton, who
has come to reside at Huron -
view. Mrs. Stephenson will
be living on Ground North.
Mid -week Bible study was
held in the new auditorium.
Mrs. Prouty was in charge
and also led in the singing of
hymns. Elsie Henderson pre-
sided at the piano.
Friday afternoon, several
residents went for a drive to
Goderich, and attended an
antique show and sale held in
the auditorium of the Blue -
water Centre.
To the family of the late
Miss Idella Fahrner, a resi-
dent of Huronview, residents
extend their sincere sym-
pathy.
