home of Mrs. Edward Melady
for Joanne Roks of Deleware.

and humorous marriage trad-
itions and their origin.

'Lynn Ryan and Debbie Mel-
ady presented Joanne with
many useful gifts. Joanne
thanked everyone for the gifts
and the warm welcome she
received from her future
relatives and neighbours.

of Toronto and Terry Smith of
Toronto visited last week with
Mrs. Mary Melady, Jack
Melady and Tim of Brighton
visited on Sunday with his e
mother. Tim remained to
spend some holidays with his
grandmother and relatives.
Mrs. len Warren, Chris,
Michael and Justin left on
Sunday to return to their
home in St. Walburg. Saskat-
chewan after spending the
past month visiting with
relatives.
Mrs. Elizabeth Connolly of
Marion Villa, London, Mr.
and Mrs, John Young and
family of Nova Scotia and
Sister Irene Connolly of
Windsor are visiting with Mr.
and Mrs. Dominic Murray
this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Jade MacRae
Jenny and Ian of London and
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Subject and
family of Kitchener visited on
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Ryan.
We would like to welcome
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Du-
charme and son to the hamlet
of St. Columban. The
Ducharmes have purchased
• the home of Mrs. Margaret
Lane and moved in on the
weekend.
Mrs. Lane has moved to an
apartment in Seaforth. •She
will be missed around St.
Columban. We wish her
health and happiness in her
new residence.
We are sorry to heat that
Tom Murray had the misfort,
une to fall and break his ankle
last week,
We also wish Fr. Oostveen,
a patient in the Stratford
hospital a speedy recovery.

by Joyce Miller. Four girls,
Trudy and Tracey Quance,
Cherie Elliott and Lisa Gardi-
ner, traced Darlene's court-
ship in song. accompanied on
the piano by Carol Scott.
Mr, and Mrs. Jim Green,
Ormstown, Quebec, were
guests at the Ellison -Temple-
man wedding at Temple-
- haven Farm on Saturday,
Aug. 6 and visited with John
and Roberta and family for a
few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Alec Scott
and Eric have returned home
from a holiday with Mr. and
Mrs. Ken Morrison, Edmon-
ton. Alberta.

at the August meeting of the
Cromarty Presbyterian
Church W.M.S. held Tues-
day afternoon at the home of
Muriel Scott. During July 9
cards were sent and 8 visits
made to the sick and shut-ins.
During the study book
session discussion of Melan-
esian culture was led by Betty
Dow. The traditional roles of
men and women are quite
different from ours, as are
their values.
A family dinner in honor of
Alex and Doreen Glh•diner's
25th wedding anniversary
was held Aug. 2 at the Dragon
Restaurant, Stratford. At the
gathering were their attend-
ants, Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Moorehead of North Bay; also
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Eggert,
